Present Moment Proof – how you know you are there

on the edge

Energy.  That’s right.  You’ll know from the energy feel.  It’s the feel of being alive, vibrating, and we may even say its a feeling of excitement.  Life is taken to a higher level and sometimes only momentarily, longer if you’re lucky.  To understand it, we have to contrast it with the times that we are ‘not’ fully present in the moment.  And that is, for most of us, the majority of the time.  Anytime we are contemplating the past or future — try it out for yourself through simple self-awareness — the energy is dead or flat.  You’ll recognize that dead feel pretty dramatically as you compare it with moments of being fully present.  You know how it goes when you’re being fully in the “now”, right?

Time stops and a surreal feeling will likely come upon you as if you have been lifted up and out and set down somewhere else all of a sudden.  Everything feels different and appears different and maybe the heart quickens and chills happen.  And then you flow with it as if nothing else or no one else exists.

We’ve all had those feelings.

And there are after effects. I think that it’s feeling in harmony and being in the flow of life that is an indicator that we have just been fully present and the residual of that remains with us and out-pictures as flowing with life for minutes, hours or day (s).

Then, we get shifted out of that flow by something that occurs and then our mind will attach, cling, fear, become angry or experience an aversion.  Then we’re dead in the water again or not functioning effectively,  have been pulled out of the flow and our vibe becomes dead again.  We’re not fully alive anymore.

These are my (blog) thoughts about it anyway.  I was recently reminded of this during a recent visit from my little (soon to be 2-year-old) granddaughter.  The entire time we were together was a peak experience.  She was fully present and brought me with her to that place of excitement.

I’m in that peak place during intense exercise workouts in which I am very focused as well as when I’m engaged in a creative project.  Moments of awakening that shake us out of our mundane, dead, and routine thoughts or activities, if used correctly, are gifts.

Being on the edge of life is being in the present moment and it comes with that feeling of being fully alive.

Personally,  at those times my soul, my psyche goes into a state, which in Zazen, is called shikantaza, a state of heightened concentration, patience, and alertness and this state throws me into a state of flow that lasts for hours or days.  Plans change or don’t enter into mind at all and one just becomes totally spontaneous.  In describing this recently someone replied, “Oh yes, if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.”  Yeah, alrighty then.  LOL

I hope this post is found to be, in some way, helpful to the reader.

When the Moon transits the 2nd and 3rd Houses

Moon Transits 2nd and 3rd House

What is the purpose or benefit of knowing the houses in astrology and which house your Moon is in at any given time of the month? Divination and Divine Timing — to know astrology is to have a handle on that, as least to some extent.  Yes, the Moon moves quickly and goes through each house once a month.  What is a house?  It’s an area of life.  And the Moon relates to our sense of happiness, feelings of security.  If we work in harmony with astrology, we know ourselves and what times of the month are typical for particular feelings to surface or to be more prominent or prevalent than other times.  Why not work with that knowledge—be in cooperation with the natural energy of the Moon and the Psyche and Life Itself?

Examples?  Why try to deal with money issues when the Moon is in your 11th house?  You natural inclination would be to perhaps visit with friends or do other 11th house things.  Suppose you have a health issue and you want to know what day this month would be good to make the doctor appointment?  When the Moon transits the 6 house would be typically the best time because the emotional/feeling nature will be in harmony with that.

I found this system valid for myself when beginning to notice one time of the month—every month—when I wanted to just disappear and not speak to anyone!  Whenever this happened, this feeling, I’d look to see where the Moon was.  Each and every time it was in my 12th house.  Yeah, I began to see a pattern.  So why not work with it more consciously? Thus, my reason for these posts on the Moon’s monthly transits through the houses!

Now that the method behind this madness has been revisited, my 2nd and 3rd house have recently had a visit from the transiting Moon.

We look first of all to the archetype of the house itself.  The 2nd house (ruled by Venus and Taurus) relates to money, what is valued, self-worth, self-reliance and the 3rd house (ruled by Mercury and Gemini) relates to communication, conversation, left brain activity, thinking, business, short trips, correspondence, neighbors and siblings.

As mentioned in the previous post about the 1st House, there are other influences affecting how that Moon is going to express—namely, the other planets and signs in your particular house and aspects the Moon may be making to other planets in the chart.  But let’s stick with the basics for the purpose of this blog post.

MOON TRANSIT OF THE 2ND HOUSE

When the Moon transits through your 2nd house, it’s a good time to pay attention to money concerns and where you stand with your monthly budget.  If you deal with that, you will find it to be very satisfying and boost your feelings of security.  This is a good time to come up with ideas to bring in extra cash as well—the Moon’s energy will naturally be focusing your psyche in this area anyway, so go with it.

A 2nd house lunar transit is a good time to review why you are worthy and contemplate what it is you really value and how you offer value to the world—this type of pep talk will enhance your feelings of security and happiness.

Review your resources, think of all the opportunities you have to provide for your self and how you are doing so; this, too, will help your mood.  Remind yourself how you have proven yourself ‘to’ yourself, no matter what others may think.  Think of everything you have achieved and then pay your bills knowing whatever you send out returns to you multiplied—make this the mantra.

Personal Note:  When the Moon moved through my 2nd house a few days ago, I looked at my own money situation and this is something that is always on the mind anyway.  Why? Because my BIRTH MOON is in my 2nd house so this is a life-long consideration for me.  My work was busy on the 2nd day that the Moon moved through my 2nd house money came to me from another source as well.

MOON TRANSIT OF THE 3RD HOUSE

What makes you happy at this time? What brings you feelings of security and comfort?  Well, it has to do with learning something, teaching something and speaking, finding the voice somehow.  You may be sensitive to tones in other people’s voices at this time and the tone of your own voice may be very self-revealing when Luna visits your 3rd house.  Your curiosity could be high and you may find that Google is your best friend and your mood would promote research of some kind—data collection.  Those things could be very satisfying and the Moon energy would encourage that.  Speaking up for yourself, saying what’s on your mind—this too would be comforting for you.  This is the time of the month to do it—it will feel great to say it like it is!

You may feel inclined to make phone calls and answer Emails and connections with neighbors or siblings would be gratifying at this time.

Personal Note:  My curiosity involved something more or less physical—I wondered if I could start jogging but the Moon was right on top of Mars and it activated my inner warrior who wanted to “Run, Forrest, Run”. [Quote from movie:  Forrest Gump/Tom Hanks] Also, I did communicate via Email at length with several students.  I’ll also mention that I did receive more than usual amount of Emails from people asking about the psychic class.  Also, I felt very drawn to go to the library several times as the Luna ran through my 3rd house, but just never made it there.  If I had, I’d have really enjoyed it or the Moon would have supported that emotionally.  Then again, I’m always happy at the Library.  A reason for that is that my birth Mercury, ruler of the 3rd is IN the 3rd–so library ‘stuff’ is strong with me anyway, all the time.  See how this works?

I hope my sharing my own lunar transits are helpful to the reader and that my posts of the Moon’s monthly movement through the houses are helpful and have piqued the reader’s interest in the valuable subject of astrology.

It is, in my opinion, such a valuable thing to know to aid in self-understanding but also in understanding others and working in harmony with them.

The Moon is currently in my 4th house for the next day or so…  but that’s for the next blog post.   Yay!  I’ve now caught up with my own Moon!

Karma, Ground Consciousness, Habituation and Meditation – mindfulness can create happiness

Karmic imprints

Karmic imprints.  They accumulate and are latent in ground consciousness or base mind.

This area of psyche gathers up or collects  (through the many layers of it’s nature)   all the karmic latencies that are gathered over eons of lifetimes.

And the responses to those tendencies create more imprints and here in this reality, on the earth,  they are able to be stimulated.

I used to think that we were completely in control of moods via our thoughts–and while that is partially true, the karmic imprints that settle into consciousness awaken in us as experiences of suffering or experiences of happiness which sometimes are seemingly out of our control.  I’ve been thinking about  karmic latency and habitual tendencies.  Do we say something like, ‘Oh that’s just how I am an I can’t help that‘ or what?  Just how does it all work anyway?   These thoughts that follow are influenced by Buddhist views by the way and they make perfect sense (to me).

Positive or negative karma ,it is said, does not always  immediately express itself. These karmic latencies resting within ground consciousness can arise later, even in future lifetimes.

Sometimes I can correlate karmic events to the Nodes of the Moon (North Node, South Node)  in an astrology chart–imprints remain in ground consciousness to ripen under the appropriate circumstances.  And we can correlate that to aspects to the birth Nodes and the transiting Lunar Nodes.  Anyway…

Negative and positive qualities increase due to habitual patterns–if a person tends to be angry again and again then becomes habituated to anger, it creates an increase of anger-latency in the mind.   The same is true with positive qualities such as love and compassion.  These qualities (either positive or negative) creates the foundation for the mind–ground consciousness.   Even in remembering some experience of the past, the remembering of it strengthens the latency.

For these reasons, we should be ever-aware and mindful–otherwise our disturbing emotions gradually increase from day-to-day and lifetime-to-lifetime.

We can create mindfulness latencies in the ground conspicuousness (habitual pattern of mindfulness).

Through meditation we can create positive latencies of love, wisdom and compassion which does overcome negative imprints when meditation is increased to focus on that love, wisdom and compassion.

We are born with a particular proclivities or latent tendencies developed in previous lifetimes.  We see this within seconds, minutes, hours of a baby’s birth.  Not all babies have the same newborn tendencies—some are restless, some are peaceful, etc.  Some children are naturally very kind due to positive latencies developed and imprinted in previous lifetimes into their ground consciousness.  Other children are very aggressive due to their own latent tendencies.

Some people are unable to deny themselves their desires and cannot say no to themselves–others can deny themselves but have difficulty saying no to others. Yet, we can change through cultivation of mindfulness or being aware of our tendencies and developing positive virtues where needed.

It seems like another lifetime ago when I asked higher mind/spirit guides [_____ fill in your own preferred word (s) here] a question. (Divination)

I really wanted to know why we were here and what we’re doing here and what the whole bottom-line point to our lives here were about.

And I was told that we are here to develop virtue.  And now, many years later, I see how true that answer was; although at the time I wasn’t satisfied with it.

With the correct understanding and with mindfulness in life and developing good qualities through  meditation we will be able to develop new latencies, new habitual  patterns, new tendencies.

Is that easy?  Is being mindful and conscious of our latent habitual tendencies at all times easy?  It’s as easy as that — or as difficult.  It depends on us.

We can develop positive or negative tendencies throughout life!  They come and they go depending upon our own awareness and contribution to the habitual patterns.

Our experience of happiness is based upon ground consciousness no matter which realm we are in.  Creating karmic imprints in the present reality results in experiencing their results in the future.

Just like a child who goes to school and studies hard creates an imprint in the mind that allows the child to later on do something with the imprint like become a teacher or a doctor.  If there was no type of imprint to start with (no schooling, no education) there would be no possibility of becoming the teacher in the future.

Well, this is all I have time to write on the topic for the moment.  I hope some of these words will find their way to the right person at the right time out there in cyber world and in doing so be helpful to that other.

Difficulties and Tensions Happen to Spiritual People and the Truth about the Number 11!  Spiritual Flaccidity and May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor

Maybe it’s the Aquarius or Uranus part of me, but I’ve always gone the opposite way of the crowd.  And in this instance I’m talking about the crowd that thinks or believes that if you have a difficulty in life or tension in any way that you’re doing something spiritually wrong!  Natural Law, you know?  Nature as an example:  the flower, in order to grow, requires the resistance of the earth to push against in order to find the light, the Sun.  Of course, how often do we hear of the other example of the lotus pushing up from the mud to symbolize our life on earth—without the mud the lotus couldn’t grow!

Tension!  There’s been a lot of that this year so far but this is (for me) and 11 year after all – numerology.  Anyway, the soul needs the tension, the strain, the stress, the pull within caused by life on Earth for growth and development just as flowers need rocks in their soil against which to push in order to reach the sun.  If we avoid tension at all costs—the way that the spiritually elite white-lighter population does—we become flaccid of spirit!  And live in yet another delusional state!

We seem to learn and to grow though tension:  maybe that’s what an 11 personal year is all about.  Does the tension and stress of earth living keep the spirit from going flaccid or getting fat and flabby?  Don’t we have to keep in shape (even spiritually)?  And so don’t we need challenges or some sort of oppositional energy (Ha! Thinking in astrological language now) in order to draw us out of our otherwise sleepy white-light delusional haze?  I’m just asking, contemplating—that’s an 11 year thing.  The word “tension”, interestingly enough, is used in describing the vibration of the number 11; Google it, you’ll see.  Other “T” words associated with the 11 vibration are these:  trials and tests.  Surprised?  If so then you might be a white-lighter in need of some 11 “T” vibe reality.

I mentioned at the start of this post the Uranus/Aquarius aspect of psyche and guess what the number 11 is associated with in astrological terms?  Yeah, Uranus/Aquarius is the answer.  And in soul astrology when we look in a chart to find where the soul has experienced trauma or wounding, we usually have our eye scanning for the location of Uranus and what where Aquarius is located.  Anyway…

Any trauma or crisis creates divine possibility and probability for spiritual growth—right?  We can’t have a flaccid soul or spirit now, can we?

Like I was saying, we need that tension in order to grow—or so the theory goes.  Tension is the key to growth; we learn through tension and we exist through tension here on Earth.  Tension creates that oppositional energy that pulls our lotus-flower-self right up out of the mud!  Light does that, sun does that and who says that the light or the sun (the 11 energy) doesn’t come right along with exactly what we need to grow, including crisis and all those T words mentioned earlier?  I’m just sayen’—just contemplating the idea of the necessity of opposition, of the right amount of necessary tension to shape our souls, our hearts, our minds, and our spiritual journey here.

Take the Yin-Yang; within the light there is darkness and vice versa.  And as the white-light crowd goes one way seeking spiritual flaccidity and I go the other contemplating the necessity for oppositional tension, life goes on as it will despite our theories.  Are our experiences in life on Earth all about haphazard odds? Or is there a divine force of intelligence guiding those odds?  As they say in the book and movie The Hunger Games, “May the odds be ever in your favor!”

Meanwhile, if any of those T words are part of your experience (tensions, trials, tests, and trauma), don’t immediately jump to the conclusions that those white-lighter’s push about creating your reality and positive thinking and all the rest of that.  You don’t need a crash course in the Law of Attraction (gimmie’ a break!) and you don’t need to escape into the white-lighter nihilistic delusion either.  Simply realize the true 11:11 vibrational message:  there needs to be balance, yin/yang and avoid the flaccid spiritual extremes.

White and black are the colors of the numbers of 11 which is reminiscent of the yin/yang symbol—two sets of opposites, the world of duality—light in the darkness and darkness in the light.

The number 11 represents challenges; do people know this?

Here’s something I found online [http://www.professionalnumerology.com/chaldeansystem.html] about the number 11:  This is an ominous number to occultists. It gives warning of hidden dangers, trial, and treachery from others. It has a symbol of a “Clenched Hand”, and “a Lion Muzzled”, and of a person who will have great difficulties to contend against.   [Based on Chaldean numerology]

My greater point is that great difficulties happen even though we wish that “the odds be ever in your [our own]  favor” …  despite that, sometimes struggle, strain and striving happens and like the flower pushing against the rock and soil or mud, that’s how we grow.  Don’t let those white-lighters make you feel bad – it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong! It’s only life on earth; it’s soul growth and maybe it’s the odds!  😉

divider3-15-13

I just remembered a few things.  First, I’ve not been blogging regularly and with this recollection, I (once again) vow to be more consistent.  Secondly, what ever happened to the 37 Verses of the Bodhisattva that I said that I was going to start doing?  Opps, see all of the above; it’s an 11 year!  However, with the above in mind, I did draw a verse number out of the basket here to add to rectify my delinquency.  I drew vow #23 which has to do with attachment and impermanence.  It talks about not holding on to anything — yin or yang, light or dark and those rainbows in life and not being attached to anything.  What do you think about how this verse applies to what I’ve written in this post?  Here it is:

When you encounter attractive objects,

Though they seem beautiful

Like a rainbow in summer, do not regard them as real,

And give up attachment.

Guilt! Do We Draw In Experiences To Show Us Where We Need to Release Responsibility? Stelliums: Special Gifts and Talents that Include Blind Spots

A stellium ~ a part of the psyche that conglomerates in one area of life indicating special talents and gifts but also blind spots

Transcending our own mental boundaries can feel like swimming naked and alone in a dark and unfamiliar place.  The mind will often wrongly interpret vulnerability as inadequacy — i.e. the blind spot!

Guilt!  Do We Draw In Experiences To Show Us Where We Need to Release Responsibility?

The answer to that, I believe is a resounding YES!  Is it true in all cases and at all times? I’m not sure but I have been considering the blind spots we have in our psyches and how that is showing in an astrological birth chart in a merging of 3 or more planets closely together.   I think it applies in transiting charts too.  When our attributes (planets) are so closely aligned, we can feel a certain sense of…. This may be hard to describe.  We ‘are’ a certain way and many times assume everyone is built that way—they’re not.

Therefore, we need them to show us our blind spots and so we draw in others to our life who trigger within us what we cannot otherwise see or realize about ourselves. There is yin/yang to everything–polarities and dichotomies.  That’s life.  And with the talents and gifts and brilliant light of the astrological stellium (special part of our soul where our gifts and talents can be found), we also have blind spots.

Then we can have those internal arguments.  Internal arguments are much better than hacking it out with the person who is carrying the projection for us—they have nothing to do with it—they are simply the tool we use to see our blind spot.

Let’s take guilt for example—it’s such a waste of time really; and many times the guilt itself comes from a lack of personal esteem or feeling not worthy somehow.  So let’s say that a person really is an over-giver and when they receive back, they practically feel guilty about it.  Or we could change it up this way and say that a person does receive what is reasonable in exchange for what they give, but feels somehow that they should give more or carry some sort of unreasonable guilt about it.  And let’s say that this is their blind spot!

And some people can be almost apologetic about asking for what is due as a reasonable exchange but they just don’t realize that they do this.  We could correlate this to a stellium in the natal chart most likely but leaving astrology out of it for a moment, let’s say that this person’s blind spot is starting to open up.  And this is due to the type of people and circumstances that are drawn into their life spectrum at a particular time that the blind spot is being realized.

We need those people and circumstances so that we can be aware that a blind spot exists in our psyche  even though we may have always known we were missing something or perhaps under appreciating our own efforts in some way and that we shouldn’t be feeling guilty.  So what do we do?  We draw in people who sit in that blind spot area and get our attention through their presence—they can be like pesky mosquitoes or gorillas, but either way—they draw our attention to that part of ourselves that we otherwise could not see.

In the example of guilt or feeling in any way uncertain about responsibility—such as which is ours and which isn’t—they make us look there and address that area within ourselves.  And the internal argument gets triggered and we have to look at it all and come to terms with it.

So, just as an example, if we are feel generally guilty that we do not give enough in relationships; for example, we will likely draw in relationship partners who are expert wretchers, moaners, whiners and complainers.  And they will challenge us to look at our guilt and our giving and we will have to come to terms with it—they will put a mirror in the blind spot through their wreching, moaning, whining and complaining.

And the reason we called them into our experience is to help us to look into that blind spot and see something about ourselves.   That we DO give enough and we DO live up to our responsibility AND MORE and that we ARE giving in equal amount to what receive and that we don’t have to give unceasingly.

When we stop having the guilt or stop being overly responsible, we will no longer have a need for complainers in our blind spot.  Oh, we all know the types of people I’m talking about—they do all that they can to make everyone else responsible for their disappointments and dis-eases and double-bubble toil and trouble (something evil comes this way…. ).  Pardon me, I just broke into a spontaneous song from a Harry Potter movie.  Anyway…

In relationships men can be just as good at kvetching as women can.  Some people are just so darn good at it—know what I mean?

Blind Spot

Well, let me think of another example quickly here.  Let’s say we have a young woman who is very attractive really but really has a blind spot about it—maybe she has a natal stellium that includes Venus for example.   She tries to care for her skin and hair and body and so forth and does all she can to develop a people-pleasing personality; however she just can’t seem to recognize her beauty.   Therefore, somewhere within her there is this nagging part that keeps calling out that she needs to try harder and that she’s not quite good enough and maybe that part of her that we’ll call the blind spot for now also says, you know you really are kind of unattractive in many ways.  We might also say that this young woman is barely aware of any of this inner dialogue or consciousness.  Next thing you know, a transiting planet hits her natal stellium, and then she’s drawing in experiences and people who point out every beauty and personality flaw that she may have secretly suspected.  Now she has to really look at herself and question it all.  She may say to herself, “Hey!  That isn’t true—I really AM an attractive person and I need to appreciate myself more.”  When the inner critic quiets the outer critics usually go away.

Yeah, well, these are just a few thoughts about an astrological stellium, guilt, blind spots, responsibility and moaners and complainers.  Stelliums are powerful places in a natal chart but they do create blind spots in areas of life where the light of consciousness is more intense and we cannot, therefore, see ourselves as clearly.

Daily Divination 10-9-11 Use Daily Earth Experiences and Effort to Ascend into Light I-CHING Kua 46 Pushing Upward, Advance

Much can be accomplished today one step at a time with consistent effort–the conditions are exactly right for that (no matter which day you read this–divine timing, you know.)  This NOW is the moment to reach for the stars. Be courageous, make effort but anchor yourself in the rich soil of the earth while doing so.  Effort—always! This is Ascending (Ascension); it is pushing upward and using every small action, everyday life itself, in an important way. This is how we rise to higher levels not only in consciousness but also in our day-to-day affairs; there’s no difference between the two anyway. Energy of the psyche must act—it is ‘never not’ acting in one way or another, either to our detriment or benefit. It’s like in astrology—those trine and square aspects.

Trines are opportunities to act but we can be lazy and not take advantage, but no matter because eventually the square comes and then the pressure is on and something’s got to give. It’s our choice–do it the easy way or be forced to do it.  Today I’m doing housework and if I didn’t keep up with it, that’s my choice–but eventually I’d be forced to, right?  Think of that TV show about hoarders and you’ll get the picture; its like pay now or pay later, but eventually it catches up.  And NO, I’m not a hoarder just in case you are thinking that but we all have to go through rooms and do deep cleaning and tossing periodically–that’s my meaning.  Life gives us opportunities and supports certain actions and if we don’t make best use of the opportunity, eventually we’ll be forced.  Observation and correlation, right?  That seems to be how it works if we just look around us.  Anyway…

The message for today is that this is a positive day (no matter what day you read this!) wherein things can be easily achieved but EFFORT is necessary one needs to push steadily toward the light just like the plant anchored in rich soil pushes up and breaks through to reach new heights. If we sit back on our haunches and wait for a jezus to save us or the spaceships to land, we’re wasting the opportunity that this time has for us to make progress, gain confidence—we are guided to accept the challenge of the moment and keep on working. Effort—always!

The I-CHING Kua 46 is called “Pushing Upward” or “Advance” brings forth the message that even the most difficult goals can be achieved if we break them down into simple easy steps. But we must take those steps!

We ‘are’ on earth after all and being grounded and applying steady effort is the name of the game in this reality—there’s no escaping it. So, what applies today is that old adage “a journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step”; we must not become discouraged.

Everyday Life Itself is our teacher and we must not turn away from it trying to escape or wait for someone to save us—we have to keep moving one step at a time while examining each step and where it takes us and discovering if that’s the direction we should go being aware and conscious in each moment so we stay on the right path.

Effort ~ one step at a time, focusing on each step and where it is leading you

It is a time of action and all past struggles that have been part of your journey have led you to this opportune moment. Remain empowered and keep applying effort until you push through to birth a new part of yourself. If you wait for the spaceships to land or for a god to save you, you will be missing a valuable opportunity to use earth experiences to ascend into light.

We all can become overwhelmed with the challenges of earth living from time to time.  Sometimes when I look at my financials I feel that way and in other mundane examples the lawn full of leaves that need to be raked as more come down by the second! (That exact thing with the leaves  is happening right now as I type these words.)    I have closets to clean and a garage collecting some minor clutter (but still!) that needs to be gone through and cleaned, things tossed and tidied up; the thought of all that can be overwhelming.  There are times that I become triggered and a flood or worry or fear will swoop in showing me that I still have such a long way to go to achieve that continual state of peace that I desire–this can leave me feeling discouraged if I let it.

These earth experiences can be exactly what I need to use, to examine, to vow to use at that one-step-at-a-time pace using applied effort to Ascend into Light.

Steady progress helps us to gain confidence on our journey toward light, and examining our steps and making conscious effort is what helps us live that heaven upon the earth (unless you are waiting for jezus or the spaceships that is).

Reaching for the stars with our feet firmly anchored in the rich soil of everyday life experiences of earth–that’s a formula for ascension.

BOTTOM LINE:  Remain encouraged; apply continued effort, one step at a time.  All conditions are supporting you.  Hang in there!

Daily Divnation 9-2-11 Getting to the Bottom Line in Life and Drinking from the I CHING Kua 48 WELL to taste the Tao!

I’ve had to duck out of blogging lately and tonight I still feel like ducking. BUT my brother, who was (I just found out) a secret reader of my daily blog (I had no idea) emailed me  asking where the blogs were for the past few days.  He wrote to me encouraging me to keep on blogging about the I-CHING.  He wrote that he enjoys the “short shot at a time”  (his words) and added that reading my blog “makes all feel good in my judgment” (his words again).

I’m honored to know that my brother likes my blog and so even though I feel like ducking again tonight—this one’s for you brother!!

Well, well, today’s message is from the I CHING Kua 48 called “The Well” (Ching).

Going to the bottom of “the well”… getting to the bottom of things; seeking truth; returning to the source. Those are the core archetype keyword associations. Looking at the picture, I’d have to add these words: going deep, being vulnerable, seeking the “naked” truth.

That pretty much describes my current dilemma on a physical level; but then nothing is purely physical is it? It’s always also metaphysical too (Meta meaning beyond; so metaphysical meaning beyond the physical).

With Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune with Chiron ALL RETROGRADE, there ‘is’ this sense of going deep, going down or going back to re-visit, re-call re-evaluate, re-do, re-live and re-view. That’s what retrograde energy is about and with all the major outer planets retrograde, it’s a theme. Let’s just isolate one for the moment. Let’s look at Jupiter.

Jupiter is in the sign of Taurus now, retrograde. What are the archetypes of Jupiter and Taurus about? I can give you a feel for some possibilities, but it depends on which house your transiting Jupiter in Taurus happens to be in right now, what aspects it is making and how it relates to your natal Jupiter.

Yet, we could say Jupiter is about intuition and beliefs and sometimes also the “vehicle” or transportation and Taurus is about survival (to the point of choosing to live or not) issues of all types—monetary/financial matters as well as the ability to maintain a physical body. Taurus is about survival. Jupiter is about beliefs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if many are looking at their past and relating it to their current belief about how they are going to survive and if they believe they can or not.

That sounds dire, but doesn’t have to be—like I said, it all depends on each individual astrological chart.

This Kua 48 is about seeking truth, wisdom and insight—the kind that is “bottom line” kind of stuff. As soon as I saw the image on the card, I thought of “Scorpio” actually. That’s the energy of getting to the bottom and of course Scorpio is ruled by Pluto. (And you can call Pluto a planet or a ball of ice but its effects are still the same by the way.)

I’d say that the reason for RETROGRADE energy in the psyche (Mind) that is mirrored by the planets (which are archetypes of the psyche both collectively and individually) is for that famous Plutonic purpose. Going deep into the psyche (even to the dark places) for the purposes of seeking bottom line truth, wisdom, insight and knowledge.

Personally, I think we are fed or nourished by the water from the depth of our souls–our souls can nourish us, quench our thirst and sometimes events of life or circumstances send us down into those depths whether we like it or not!

I’ve been there for the past few days myself and surely I’d not have chosen this visit; yet there I found myself anyway. Metaphysically one thing was happening but physically, the ‘part of me’ that wanted to keep breathing and believed I could if I got some help, drove me to the hospital. So physical and metaphysical is like which comes first the chicken or the egg? It doesn’t matter really. What matters is that the process keeps working and we keep evolving and sometimes that evolution means we have to dive into the well just like the image above. Then we go to the “Source” and remember what we need to by revisiting and reliving and then hopefully resolving. I have two more days of antibiotics left; meanwhile that little exercise helped me shift yet again, seeing life differently still.

Sometimes, we go down to the very foundations of life—breathing is pretty much the bottom line of that very foundation on a physical level. Breath. Breathing—this is the foundation which is the same for every human. Of course we don’t think of these things until we have one of those bottom line experiences—like when we can’t seem to breathe. Yet, we are surrounded by it everywhere—air is an inexhaustible source external to the physical body—we must only draw in a sufficient amount. It can’t hurt anyone to reflect upon these basic truths! (at least once in a while)

The bottom line message is to bypass external influences and plunge in to the pool of deep wisdom; your soul. The journey toward self-knowledge requires that we willingly enter the darkness of uncertainty for insight can only come to you by living your own experience. Turning to The Source within, diving within one’s own core sustains and refreshes and nourishes.

Personally, I am amazed that the way is provided to go deeper even when I think I cannot possibly do so. Not being able to breathe (at least not very well) was the catalyst to do all that “re” work from all those outer planets and…

Jupiter in Taurus led me to the door to the room that contained the book of ‘me’ wherein I entered and wrote in my own book of life what I believed (Jupiter) about my survival (Taurus).

There is nothing like ‘not being able to breathe’ –it causes one to know one’s self to the point of drinking from the source of clarity within the depth of the soul!

Yet, strangely I was calm and collected and hopefully this feeling of wanting to duck out will pass… I’m in a recuperation and rejuvenation phase.

May all of your ‘drinks from THE WELL’ be easy-breezy, gentle, refreshing and replenishing!

May you enjoy a taste the TAO!

PS–

pardon if this post sounds like a bit of a mess…

I’m taking some medicine that creates what Luna (in the Harry Potter movies) calls…

 Wrackspurts.

Luna says,

“They’re invisible. They float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy.”
