Waxing Gibbous Moon Phase – October 2014

waxing gibbous moon2

Well, here we are, in the Gibbous Moon Phase and the day Moon here is big and glorious!  One can see the sunset in the west and the moon in the east at days end!  Magical stuff really if you let yourself go there!   I mean linger in the view of the Moon and Sun, contemplate it, and really enjoy@!

Well, my Lunar enthusiasm gets me going–pardon.  Akhhemm, [clearing throat and getting serious now] so Gibbous Phase and in 3 days the Moon will be gloriously full.
The Waxing Gibbous Moon; the Separation from the Sun is now 135 – 180°

This is the last part of the waxing phase in the Lunar Cycle… after the Full (180°), the Moon begins to “wane” and the cycles are tagged with that word.   In the last phase [waxing First Quarter] the words ‘forewarned is forearmed’ and that was about the old shells of old energy that litters the field of consciousness and about repudiating the past [patterns of consciousness].  Commitment has been growing and takes hold fully in this phase.

In this Gibbous phase there may be feelings of partnership or teamwork which predominate and are very strong.  One may be very aware of more than one spirit guide present during psychic work; they’ve been there all along but now the Sun shines upon them within our consciousness.   The psychic may feel a full-on commitment to their work.   There may be a stronger than usual impulse to engage with the world in some type of service and commitment therein becomes solidified. There is that feeling that comes with this type of inner dialogue now:   ‘Okay, now I know for sure I’m on the right path and I know what I’m doing and where I’m going or at least I know what I need to do now.’

We should all be feeling that to some extent as the Moon grows fuller over the next few days.  This phase happens once a month–so you haven’t miss it if you and NOT reading his in the October 2014 timing.  Save these posts and revisit the Moon phases again next month.  The greatest thing about the Lunar cycle is that it’s monthly!  Anyway…

There is a strong awareness now of needing others to do psychic work—both those in spirit world and in the human realms.  A little self-analysis at this time goes a long way.   The psychic work here may be adjusted and tweaked or the psychic may consider doing the work just a little bit differently than in the past.

Now we have ‘gone over the waterfall’ so-to-speak and we are independently and fully committed to what we intended during the New Moon several weeks ago [ on September 24th to be exact ].  Whether we were conscious of it or not, the New Moon energy set something into motion [positive or negative] and now we have it clearly before us in one way or another.

Co-operation is a key word for this lunar phase as well as co-creation.  The desire underlying motivation toward this co-operation with others and they with us is fellowship–networking, team players and meaningful connections are expected now.

RED FLAG WISDOM:  A red flag in this phase is that because we are so willing to compromise and create with others, those who like to take advantage for their own purposes can do so too easily — so discernment is also highly associated with this phase of the Moon.  Not being to gullible or trusting or naive–because we have a natural feeling now to co-operate with others, if we don’t use discernment, we can become victims.  Everyone wants to be loved and appreciated but there are those who will use that to their own advantage, so that’s one thing to know and be aware of at this time.  Word to the wise as they say.

In this Waxing Gibbous Phase, the Sun and Moon are 4 or 5 signs apart. This months’ Gibbous Phase cycle began at 15° Aquarius.  The same element–thus the cooperation.  Aquarius is an Air sign and so is Libra where the Moon was when this cycle began–two air signs co-operate well.

So the Sun and Moon are at ease and in accord and the energy now can be easily harnessed.

Astrologer Dane Rudhyar says that people who are born with their Moon in this phase are eager to contribute meaningfully to society and they may devote their life to a cause.  People born in this Virgo-type cycle (ruled by Mercury) have keen minds and a way of connecting the dots with ideas.

Verbal abilities will be strong now with the Sun/Moon relationship being in air signs.

The Gibbous phase allows for adjustments and preparation.  Personally, I’ve felt that part most of all–the need for preparation.  I’ve been getting paperwork together, making photocopies and doing that Virgo-type thing that is associated with that intention that I had back at the New Moon and that I’ve received hints will be manifesting.  I got a call during the New Moon and was told what paperwork is needed and while the Moon was in this phase I’ve had a strong pull to get that done.  Like I said, preparation and adjustments are a strong part of this Mercury ruled phase.

We can be doing self-analysis in this phase too–that’s part of the internal adjustment mentioned above and thus, humility is associated with this phase as well.  And personally I must add the word “awe” to this phase from my own perspective.  Gemini-like internalization leading to action.

There is an inner feeling of wanting to be prepared so that there is no rejection on any level in the next phase  Feelings of inferiority need to be conquered in this phase and one will be helped in many ways to feel worthy in preparation for the upcoming Full Moon energy–that is if during the Waxing First Quarter phase one didn’t let doubt crumble the structure or get tripped up in the wasteland of old patterns.

In this phase the self talk must be similar to these types of words and phrases:  “I deserve this.  It is not too much to ask.  I don’t listen to other people’s criticisms and have confidence and I do not defer to others.  I am worthy–equal, deserving.  I have good karma.  I am prepared.  Everything will go well.  I remain humble yet deserving.”

I have not revealed on the blog what seeds I planted during the New Moon–not yet or many not ever.  I am keeping that under my hat for now–at least for now.

See you at or after the Full Moon:  15° Aries!  October 8th, 2014, Wednesday.

New Moon in Monthly Moon Phases – New Moon in Libra

The New Moon

If you followed the Moon through the 12 Houses of the zodiac, you may want to follow the 8 Lunar Phases as I blog my way through those over this next 8-phase cycle in the next 30 days.  It’s a good time to start this journey–the Moon is just entering the NEW PHASE.

NEW MOON [in LIBRA] lunar phase starts early tomorrow, September 24th, 2014,  around 2 AM EASTERN.  But this information is applicable to any New Moon in any month as far as learning more about the New Moon itself is concerned.  A NEW MOON happens every month and some people are born under a NEW MOON.

When it’s the NEW MOON, it is time to plant new seeds for the new lunar cycle.  There are 8 lunar phases; therefore each phase lasts about 3 to 4 days.

The quality of the seeds of the mind and heart today and tomorrow set up mood/emotions/heart’s desires for the entire month.  And since this month the NEW MOON occurs in LIBRA, we add that this is  especially true with regard to relating to others [Libra].  Again, this is because this (September 2014) New Moon is in the sign of Libra.

Understanding where we’ve been to know where we’re going

As the New Moon relates to ‘the psychic’ and doing readings, etc., it is good to remember that when there’s a New Moon, our psyche has just exited the Balsamic phase.  What does that mean?  Well, I just posted about the 12th house Moon transit and so that gives the idea because the 12th house of the zodiac is like the balsamic phase of the Moon.  [Familiar territory for me for another reason:  my Moon is Balsamic to my Sun in my natal chart, indicating my whole life is like one big ole’ 12th house/balsamic phase.]  But before I digress further,  back to the topic.  The New Moon phase follows the Balsamic.  In order to understand the New Moon properly, the Balsamic Moon from which it births needs to be understood a bit.  The Sun and Moon merge during the balsamic phase and there is an opening to spirit world at that time.

From the Balsamic Phase to the New Phase

The balsamic lunar phase, where the Moon is just exiting, began with a very deep psychic sensitivity where alternate realities make themselves known to the psychic in the process of divination.  Ghosts show up in this phase; its like Halloween the veils have been thin. Balsamic is the phase most associated with mediumship.

Communication from loved ones on the other side, spirit guides and angels are more common for everyone during this lunar phase but more so for the psychic.  Imagination and visions are at their peak.  The archetype here is one of merging with Divine Will, surrender and a willingness to go into the abyss.  More than any other time of the month, the psychic in the balsamic phase wants to withdraw from life.  Those, like myself, who were born when the Moon is in the Balsamic Phase, as mentioned above, may grapple with these feelings their entire life.

In the balsamic phase there is a search for ultimate meaning and the desire is strong to turn ones back to the physical world.  We are more willing, when the Moon is in the balsamic phase, more than at any other time to ask questions like, “What is the nature of reality?”, “What is the nature of the mind?” Or “Where do we go when we die?”

We recognize the illusion of time and physical matter much more easily when the Moon is balsamic.  A psychic who is comfortable in this realm already is able to, very lovingly,  go so deeply that they enter into “the universes of spirit world” and experience a liberation and freedom as well as wisdom  that… well, that helps one keep going through the next lunar cycle starting again with the New Moon.

Now the New Phase — The Dark of the Moon, also known as the New Phase 0 to 45°

This time of the month the doors to the other worlds still are open (see Balsamic Phase above).  The Moon is starting to separate from the Sun and the impulse is to bring ‘that’ something divine which the merging of Sun and Moon created into the world.  Things are conceived in the dark of the balsamic and new phase.

It is a good time to trust the heart over reason.  The psychic work in this phase should be permitted to be instinctual.  Dane Rudhyar says, in describing the energy of this phase, that we see an impulse for action, challenging the old with an eagerness to overcome obstacles

The mood may be one of initiation–a desire to initiate something new, give it a try, see how it works.  Something was born in the last few days as the moon was balsamic and now the emotional desire is to initiate something new in some way.  And we have the clue of Libra since this month’s new Moon occurs here–we have partnerships or other people in some way which will likely be part of a new idea or the emotional birthing… like a baby taking it’s early first steps.

[On a personal note, I’ve been feeling the intensity of the 12th house very acutely lately.  I didn’t realize until this moment that not only was the Moon transiting my 12th house but it has been in the balsamic phase which relates acutely with 12th house energy.  No wonder I feel a huge emotional shift right now.  The Moon moved out of the 12th house and out of the balsamic phase and into the New Moon phase.]

Moonstone and Her Qualities, Properties and Colors for Psychics and Astrologers

Moonstone ImagesMOONSTONE!

I wear one in a ring and think of Goddess Energy (the Goddess Diana) in association with Moonstone.  And of course all that the Moon itself represents, including the Divine Feminine and Intuition!

In my thinking, Moonstone relates to the subconscious mind and helps us to connect with it, and the soul itself.

It protects, it is said, all  those who wear or carry it when they travel at night.

It does change it’s light when the Moon is full or dark–and it reflects energy just as the Moon itself reflects the light of the Sun, thus it’s connection with intuition.

I see the changes in the light of the Moonstone in the ring that I wear based upon the phase of the Moon.

Moonstone can be blue, gray, white, peach, yellow or rainbow color–the stone in my own Moonstone Ring is the white/grey blend of the moon itself.

Moonstone is also thought to cleanse negativity from chakras.  And it is thought, naturally, to enhances the feminine (intuitive) qualities.

It’s a good stone to have along with you during pregnancy and childbirth.  Personally, I think all astrologers should wear or carry Moonstone, especially when interpreting charts.  And every psychic should want to own one or several.

Moonstone is abundant in the area of the mountains where I’m from in North Carolina.  It is from the FELDSPAR family.

As for me; I wouldn’t leave home or go anywhere without it–a Moonstone lives on my left pink-y finger and has for many years.  We could call it the “stone of divination”, and so I will.

By the way, in Palmistry the small finger is associated with COMMUNICATION (the Mercury finger).  I didn’t plan which finger upon which to place a Moonstone ring–it was the finger that the ring fit at the time before I knew the first thing about Palmistry.  Since I am a psychic, I find that association supportive and synchronistic.  By the way, the sign associated with the little finger is Libra, and that’s my Sun, Moon, Venus and Neptune sign.  Well anyway…. before I get carried off into doing Palmistry, better get back to work on my new website!
