Balsamic Moon Phase – October 2014 Leads to New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 23rd

BALSAMIC MOONphase-2

Balsamic Phase!  [AKA Waning Crescent Phase] Yep. Moon is at 2° Libra (today as I type this) and that feeling of wanting to escape into a mist of a cloud and fade out is here again–it’s a regular monthly feeling for me.  Maybe you too?  The Balsamic Moon says things like  ‘I want change NOW or GET ME OUT OF THIS REALITY’…. that’s the feeling I’m describing that you may be able to identify with regarding this Moon Phase.

THE SOUL AND THE DIVINE ARE ULTIMATELY INSEPARABLE AND INDISTINGUISHABLE — we can know that… have that experience in this phase!

The desire for peace and silence is overwhelming.  I currently reside (I changed the word live to reside just now)  in a parking lot type townhouse setting where every 8 feet on both sides of the narrow drive-through is a parking space.  Any time someone slams their car door, it sounds like a sonic boom going off around my head.  Most days it barely registers but the need for silence contrasts with the booms and bangs.  (No, I don’t have a headache but I feel the sounds in my body.  Has that ever happen to you?  You know the feeling, right?)

I have two roommates who bang around and dialogue early in the morning which I incorporate into weird dreams usually but it seems much more disturbing now.  This is typical of the Balsamic Phase of the Moon—the need for quiet, silence as the psyche on all levels needs to commune with the inner energy and distractions from the outer world loom much larger.  As I mentioned at other times in this blog, my natal Moon is balsamic (directly behind) my Sun and so this is true for me at all times, but at this time it is even more pronounced.

Coping with the outer world takes huge effort and concentration and discipline because all parts of mind/body/spirit want to go far away from the normal routine.  I spoke with one of my daughters last evening who expressed feeling overwhelmed with the demands of earth living–the long drive to work, the financial stresses and strains and the having to work long hours without what she feels is proper reimbursement for her efforts.  That’s another way to describe this phase.   She didn’t know the solution or what to do about it but felt despondent–again, overwhelmed with the demands of life.  That’s the feeling of this phase.  And knowledge is power–and we know phases are just that, phases.

We could toss in the mercury retrograde and the two eclipses this month on top of it (and personally I’m having a Lunar Return today), but then why complicate things further?  I’d like to stick to the blog post topic –the Balsamic Moon Phase.

Here’s the view from the perspective of the psychic/the sensitive.

The Balsamic phase AKA The Waning Crescent:  the Moon is 315 -360° growing into the “dark of the Moon”

This phase begins with a very deep psychic sensitivity and alternate realities make themselves known to the psychic.  Ghosts show up in this phase—like Halloween the veils are thin at this time. Communication from loved ones on the other side, spirit guides and angels are more common for everyone during this lunar phase but more so for the psychic.  Imagination and visions are at their peak.

The archetype here is one of merging with Divine Will, surrender and a willingness to go into the abyss.  More than any other time of the month, the psychic wants to withdraw from life when the Moon is in the Balsamic Phase.

There is a search for ultimate meaning now. And the desire is strong to turn ones back to the physical world.  We are more willing than at any other time to ask questions like, “What is the nature of reality?”, “What is the nature of the mind?” Or “Where do we go when we die?”

We recognize the illusion of time and physical matter.  A psychic who is comfortable in this realm already can lovingly go deeply that they enter into “the universes of spirit world” and experience a liberation and freedom as well as wisdom  that… well, that helps one keep going through the next lunar cycle starting again with the New Moon.

New Moon happens again at 1° Scorpio which is also the time of the Solar Eclipse.  Again, Solar Eclipses are about something new.  Lunar Eclipses relate to some type of permanent ending.  These things don’t happen overnight and some eclipse energy affects people more dramatically than others (which depends on their natal chart points as they relate to the eclipse points) but that’s the core concept with eclipses.

Date:  New Moon Solar Eclipse October 23rd.  It’s a good time to set your intentions for the new month and the season as well.  Do so and then follow the blog posts through the phases if you’d like using the links below.

ADDENDUM:  disclaimer:  Maybe it’s because I’m in the midst of a PERSONAL LUNAR RETURN but I wanted to come back to post a bit more about the ‘feelings’ now as they relate to the earlier phases of the Moon as it grew full–a comparison and contrast.  By the way, a Lunar return is when the Moon returns to the same degree and minute as it was on the day you were born.  So, that happens monthly. I think that’s going to be my next project:  to write about the Lunar Return.  I’ve noticed, through the years, the days when I’ve felt — for lack of a better word right now– I’ve felt FUNKEY, different, strange, weird or felt something was ‘off’ and so looked at my chart to find time and again that the Moon was conjunct my birth Moon on that day.  So I’ve been meaning to investigate Lunar Returns a bit more; my understanding at this point is that they are like a New Moon, but even more personal.  That’s as far as my knowledge goes–and up until now I thought of a lunar return as a double moon of sorts just intensifying emotion.  But I plan to find out more.

Anyway, back to this personal addendum on the balsamic moon phase.  I look back to the New Moon and the Waning Crescent as I had this dilemma and desire and planted some seeds— well, okay.  At the New Moon time I was  telepathically screaming into the heavens asking what is going on, what direction should I take and what is this all about and then stating my needs and desires best I could.  Stuff started to happen–very encouraging and validating stuff.  I felt, well… validated, confirmed, 10-4 good buddy message received and all that.  I knew what was going to happen and still do–eventually.  It hasn’t happened yet but I have been given full assurances–in the physical–that it will and soon.  Apparently, not THIS lunar phase unless something changes in the next few days–in which case I will be back to post it!

But it is strange — and this is the point that I wanted to make about this lunar phase — somehow the fire has gone out.  Don’t misunderstand.  It’s not that I still don’t want to have happen what I was assured will happen–it will happen eventually and it could be at any moment is what I was told.  And the circumstances around this are very true to point–it is a concrete physical thing I’m talking about here.  And the ‘any time now’ does make perfect sense in the 3rd dimensional physical reality–so that part’s ‘all-good’ as they say.  Yet somehow the fire has gone out a bit or at least we could say there is no more open flame and the logs of the fire are just red embers, still producing warmth [as an analogy] but, again, no open flame.  The excitement is over and the reality of life remaining ‘as is’ filters back in and there’s a sadness and at the same time there’s a feeling of how it doesn’t matter much one way or another.  Intellectually it does because my mind is yelling at me — it matters! it matters! it matters a lot!  but the heart of me is detached from the cares of the world, the earth and my own earthly life.  There are more important considerations even if I can’t exactly nail those down either.  There’s a desire to go sit on a nice huge boulder  somewhere that’s warmed by the sun and let the wind blow my hair and move across my face and be completely STILL.  Either that or transport into a fluffy white cloud in the sky and look down and laugh at the cares of the word and laugh even more loudly at my own life.  I am not depressed, i am detached–detached, except from chocolate.  Chocolate helps, it really does!.

Last Quarter Moon Phase October 2014

Last Quarter Moon Phase-2

The current energy:  The head/Sun squares the heart/Moon… well, that’s one (of many) ways to say it.  Today the Moon is in it’s Last Quarter Phase (270° to 315°).  This phase started at 1° Leo and enters  the last phase, the Balsamic at 1° Libra and then the next New Moon is 1° Scorpio.  These phases happen every month of course as the Moon moves through it’s monthly cycle.  So where are we now exactly as far as what we can expect will occur based on our New Moon intention from the last New Moon when we planted our seed and conceived something during the dark of the Moon last?

What is this phase all  about?  Well, we start with the fact of the square that the Moon and Sun are making and that brings frustration, uneasiness, the energy being at odds, conflicting.  The Moon wants one thing and the Sun another and both must be resolved–but differently.

Dane Rudhyar calls this phase “Crisis is Consciousness” — and I think too “crisis in belief”.  Internal conflicts, therefore, mark this phase.  Do we deserve what we asked for during the New Moon?  Is it possible to achieve? Are we in harmony with our own ideals?  –these types of questions could be possible now.  I can see this within my own self as I look back to the start of the cycle (Sept. 23/24) at the last New Moon and all that has happened over these last 3 week and I feel myself having to grapple with a few things internally.  Here in this phase we should be careful that we don’t create a pattern called “the undoing of the doing”.  We must not take things for granted and undermine our own creative efforts and all the while try to understand our own actions.

We are likely to seek a deeper cosmological understanding–again, crisis in belief.  We begin to feel the pull of Source Energy now pulling us into the next phase.  We may be confused about what to believe and the value system that we associate with those beliefs.

What you believe determines your values which in turn determines your lifestyle relative to your beliefs.  There can be a crisis in lifestyle and a crisis in identity as well.  An inner question such as “Am I living my life according to my own values?”    Something in consciousness is being re-polarized so that a new foundation of awareness can occur–the soul strives for a new foundation!

There is society and then there is ‘me’–values may differ.  We feel the new cycle and want to move into that but we are finishing up something in this cycle that must come first—thus, the frustration.

the Psychic in this last quarter moon phase

The psychic, the sensitive individual,  feels the longing to go home, to withdraw, and seeks solitude more frequently in this lunar phase. Thoughts of what is left behind as a legacy are typical of this phase,  And so perhaps in this lunar phase the psychic professional works on that class, that book, those teachings or the project of one kind or another.  There is still engagement with the outer world but it is like the autumn if we equated this to a season.

The Moon wanes and the monthly cycle ends and now the psychic starts to review the month, the work and perhaps takes inventory of successes and perceived failures and maybe considers how to improve or change in some way.

There is a sense of wanting to finish unfinished business and so reviewing connections with others perhaps by checking over Email to be sure everything was addressed… just anything to tidy things up because subconsciously and intuitively the feeling of needing to withdraw again is nearing.

So there is a feeling of culmination and completion here and shedding the skins that were worn in the world this time/this month.  The time is coming again soon to enter the cave once again where perhaps only a loincloth and meditation beads are needed—perhaps not literally but at least metaphorically.

No matter what your role in life or what profession you are in the emotional nature responds to an important principle or value that you feel you must uphold.  However, it is important to be flexible about this because as you feel like you would like to reform the whole system of society and the world to be in harmony with your own ideals, there is a need to be reasonable.  We can only do our best in our own corner of it working within the system (and societal values) that are already in place while being in harmony with our own system and values at the same time.

And we should remember that we are talking about the Solar-Lunar factors… the Sun relating to the Moon.  We’re talking head (Sun) versus heart (Moon). The purpose and outer persona (Sun) and the evolving emotional and soul dynamic (Moon) and we started this phase with the 270° square.  I wrote a post a while back about the difference between the energies of the Sun and the Moon which may be good to review:  CLICK HERE.

This phase is like a sweet sorrow.  Like sensing a return to the homeland after being away.  Time now feels even more precious because we know something is soon going to change but before it does we ask ourselves, “Have I been doing my best?”    These types of questions permeate our gradual return to the inner world as we move through this phase.  Longing increases to return to the dharmakaya, the place of divine truth.  We remember the “Cosmic Joke” as some say and we focus on today, now, and …. well, I just now realize that this very morning, I made a Facebook post that epitomizes this:

“In our lives there’s ‘this n’ that’ happening and then there’s the other ‘not’ happening and then again there’s the ‘meanwhile’… deep within; the eternal presence in the eternal now is meanwhile. Always meanwhile at the core of us, there’s exists, always, the divine connection meanwhile and the practice of the virtue of patience.”

There’s a sense of autumn about this phase and an acceptance of the imperfection of our lives, our values, our beliefs and those of the others and the outer world of society.  We can almost laugh about it realizing how little it all really matters in the end.   Yet, we still know we have to participate in it and so our grip loosens.  We accept what we haven’t done and may not get to do and we also see that tendency in other people–that which has not been accomplished not only in this monthly lunar phase but in life generally.  Yet, despite this, we’re okay with the imperfections of Samsara.

We know we cannot always be right, have everything we want, remain young all the years of our life but…

we must be very careful now not to become cynical.  We should let go of all judgments of ourselves and others–that’s all irrelevant anyway and we can get a glimpse of that now.

Don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

We do not want to repeat the past — this for sure is what we know and we must be careful not to “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory”.

It is important not to judge circumstances now, no matter how things appear!  It’s best to say “I have no idea…” right now rather than to draw an erroneous conclusion about anything or anyone.  Enlightenment, after all, in the end is knowing that you don’t know all that you thought you knew!

Next up:  Balsamic Phase at 1° Libra starting on Tuesday the 21st.  And then we go thought the cycle again, so you can come back and start again with the New Moon phase entry on this blog and let the Moon phases guide you through another month.

Waning Disseminating Moon Phase – October 2014

waning disseminating moon2

The Sun-Moon angle of separation now is past full (the 180° of the total 360° zodiac circle is Full Moon).  We have now entered and are well into the Waning Disseminating Phase which is 225 – 270°.  The Moon now wanes, grows smaller.  If we put this phase in perspective by comparing it to the circle of the zodiac with Aries as first house, we’d be around the 8th house or or 9th house right about now–the area of “The Shaman”.

The Shaman who has a social identity too.  So at this time we need, like the social shaman, times for periodic withdrawal like a shaman would need while at the same time giving something, “disseminating” something as the name implies and as a shaman does.  We now have some wisdom which we gained from the Full Moon which we can share with others.

Just as a side note, it’d be nice to be able to see the Moon wane in our local sky here after the huge attention-getter that it was last week; but alas, where I currently reside,  the Moon has been camouflaged by dark clouds and rain for days now.

The homeward journey of the Moon has started, at least symbolically.   In comparison to a human life cycle, we are now past mid-life.  The Moon is closer to death than to birth.

And in our psyche during this Moon phase, there is a certain detachment from worldly concerns.  As I typed that last sentence, I laughed thinking how I took off for the gym to workout yesterday despite the area’s heavy concerns about a tornado warning and I joked with my daughter saying, “… so in case a tornado hits me, you will find my body somewhere between home and the YMCA.”  In this phase, we have the understanding that everything must die and our orientation to life changes with that mood.

We are focused both inwardly and outwardly and in that split focus we can see that we should live our life every single day as if it were the last day we have on earth.

We are challenged in this lunar phase, in some way or another, to get over our own self-importance and to diminish our self-involvement or egocentric views.  Something about this current waning disseminating energy encourages less selfishness and to make other people’s concerns more important than our own.  We also realize “how rare and precious we all are” –to borrow a phrase from the movie, CONTACT.  And with this perspective, we stop sweating the small stuff–as the saying goes.

Right now the Moon looks like its missing an edge of it’s face.

In this phase, says Rudhyar, people like to teach others what wisdom they accumulate in their internal search for understanding.

This is the time of the month that a psychic who is also a medium will likely receive the most requests to bring a message from a loved one on the other side. We will most feel like connecting to ancestral energy or the ‘old’ teachings at this time. In this phase people are tempted to want to give or ‘give back’ for the blessings that they have received and in this lunar phase, the psychic may feel like giving a free reading or do something in order to give back for their blessings.  Also, they may receive love offerings/donations in this phase.

In this phase the psychic wishes to remain engaged with others but will soon enter a withdrawal phase again as the Moon continues to wane.  There is a feeling in this phase of longing to commune with kindred souls as well as having the recurring realization that life is short and precious as previously mentioned.

PERSONAL NOTE:  As the Moon has been in the disseminating phase it was with great pleasure that I created a website for my daughter, who had been asking me to help her with that.  I noticed that I had a strong impulse to share with her what I’d learned in my online computer work and to be helpful to her.  There was an acute awareness that I had valuable information and abilities that could be of great service to her.  I’ve also felt a stronger connection to my family than is usual for me and the inevitability of the passage of time and how much I love them.

Waxing Crescent Moon Phase 45 – 90° – September 2014

waxing crescent moon phase

I thought I may be too late–is the Moon gone beyond 90 degrees yet?  We started with the New Phase at 0 or 1° Libra and now the Moon is at 9° Sagittarius today as I write this.    Since there’s 30 degrees to a sign and we started at Libra, progressing in order through the zodiac in the lunar cycle we have…

Libra 30° + Scorpio 30° + 30° Sagittarius and 30 x 3 is 90 degrees; so we’re still in the Waxing Crescent Phase which is from 45 to 90°. Whew! I’m not late with this blog post.  The Moon moves into the next phase when it gets to Capricorn, the next sign on the wheel.   I’m not too late and the Moon didn’t leave me behind.

Today the Moon is 69° into the next phase–the Waxing Crescent that follows the New Moon phase.  So, right on time then, I will continue.  We’re not at 90° yet.  Moving right along because I’m starting to sound like the Mad Hatter of Alice in Wonderland fame.

I’ve had one thing on my mind lately and so when it is said that you should plant a seed during the New Moon (dark of the Moon) or set an intention for the month, there’s no doubt about what that was for me in my life.

I won’t detail that here at the moment (it’s personal for now) but may share it later.  It’s still pretty new; just a seed after all and I don’t want to be digging it up or creating anything that could keep it from taking hold in the soil and pushing up above ground.  More on that in a moment.

The Moon entered the Waxing Crescent Phase when it was at 45° from the last Sun/Moon conjunction.  What was that date?  30 Libra + 15 Scorpio = 45 degrees.  The Moon hit 15 Scorpio on September 27th, 2014 in the wee hours of the morn Sunday last or late Saturday night however you prefer it depending on your bedtime, eh? That’s when the Waxing crescent phase began officially, Eastern time.

So here we are… we’re in that Waxing Crescent Phase now.  Something happened in my life at the end of the New Phase that relates to the seed I planted–it was only a word, a whisper, an inkling of the seed stirring, but it happened!

And now well into the waxing crescent phase I find myself energizing that whisper with many thoughts, hopes, imaginings, visions.  So we will see how it goes as we near the Full Moon–follow along with me through the phases and I’ll keep you posted and maybe even reveal what its all about.  No promises though; we’ll see how it goes.  Like I said, it’s very personal.  Anyway…. back to the Waxing Crescent Moon Phase for now.

Waxing.  I’ve got to tell you that the choice of words there has always sort of irked me a bit.  Couldn’t they come up with a more descriptive word for indicating that the Moon is growing brighter and larger in the sky?  Can’t begin to tell you how many times while learning this bit of Luna lore that I’d scratch my head and say what’s waxing mean again?  I think of wax as the stuff you use to make candles and I’m not sure what that…. well, “waxing” according to dictionary.com, is from the  Old English weaxan; related to Old Frisian waxa, Old Saxon, Old High German wahsan, Gothic wahsjan,  Whatever!

So the Moon is getting larger, waxing.  We just have to accept that’s what waxing means and try to remember it.

After the FULL MOON it wanes (gets smaller in the sky to our eyes) and the word wane makes more sense to me.

But now we have this Waxing Crescent that we’re well into now (September 29th, 2014) but the date is not much matter since we’ll be here in this phase again next month and every month thereafter, “Lord willen’ and the creek don’t rise” as that saying goes.

We can pretty much count on the Sunrise and the Moonrise and their rhythms; that’s another reason to love astrology–it represents something we can count on and those things are far and few in life. Getting back to business now…

The Waxing Crescent Moon; the separation of the Moon from the Sun is between 45 – 90°

In this phase feelings of hopefulness abound and there is a sense that lingers of that other-worldliness from the earlier phase and the impulse toward action or activity is increased yet there is a struggle to put into the outer world what the inner world is experiencing.

There is the struggle with the need to withdraw from social interactions at this time of the month.  Psychic work at this time will carry the tune of inspiration.

A distance of 45° in astrology is called a semi-square and there is a struggle here, says Dane Rudhyar, for something concrete–a structure or mental concept.  There is the shock of discovery at this angle–it’s thin and new.  There can be a feeling of excitement with a tendency to want to slow down and look at things from all angles.   To our eye the Moon won’t have a distinctive shape until it reaches the First Quarter 90° when it looks like that distinctive semi-circle–until then the Moon’s shape is a straight line more-or-less.

There is gradual revelation in this phase which also includes the sextile (60°) and that’s where a comparison and contrast becomes evident and exciting.  In our current cycle that happened when the transiting Moon was at approximately 1° Sag. (Yesterday, Sunday 9-28-14).

There’s no stress with any kind of sextile and in this phase there’s a good deal going on internally.  There needs to be an isolation from the external world so the soul can ponder what’s taking place and begins to think about the effort and skills needed to work in harmony with the seed that is taking shape.

This whole waxing crescent phase is about allowing the evolutionary intent to take root–new energy with a new purpose.  Keyword:  allowing.

And here there can be those fears… fears of the past repeating itself.  No!  don’t let yourself go there!  We are doing evolution and NOT de-volution.  Right?

(I can feel that within my own experience now and it is very much in alignment with what the books all say about this phase.)

The Moon here in the waxing crescent phase is is young and full of possibility.  If we put this in terms of seasons, we could say that the Moon here is still in “winter” and we know spring is around the corner.  We still feel the ‘otherworldliness’ that carried us from the New Moon phase that came on the heels of the Balsamic phase where something was about to be conceived.  It was conceived!   And now the energy wants to rush out and to manifest.

Before this Moon cycle began, it was abstract and we couldn’t quite conceive of  how our desire or hopes could come about–it was dark and confusing but then a trace of light happened in the New Phase and into the Crescent and it has been growing all along!

Sooner or later what we want to happen will–that’s the feeling now but it feels awkward still.  Yet, at the same time, we’re ready to take it on, go with it, roll up our sleeves and work in harmony with it.  There’s an urgency feeling of something that has to get done but you don’t want to jump the gun that’s loaded and ready to go off– it’s not gone off yet!  And you don’t want to just sit there and do nothing either.  There’s the struggle.

Rudhyar says, about this phase, that people born in this phase “may be characterized in some cases by a deep, subconscious sense of being overwhelmed by the momentum of the past and the power of “ghosts” or karma”.  [i.e. doubt.]

There’s a feeling of not wanting to let things slip through the fingers, not wanting to miss the boat.  The hands are being untied now and there’s a strong desire to use them well.

In the month of October and on the 8th of this month — next Wednesday from now to be exact — there will be a FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE.  (That’s a whole other blog)

Anyway, the energy now indicates that something bigger than one’s own self is about to give purpose, direction and shape to the life.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll drink to that–raising my coffee cup to the Moon and the Goddess therein!

[I will see you somewhere near the Square, the 90° angle of the Moon to the Sun and that’s going to happen (as stated earlier) at 1° Capricorn.  In this time zone (Eastern) this happens on October 1st!  See you in a few days; that is, if I can stay on time here with my blogging intentions I will. :0]

New Moon in Monthly Moon Phases – New Moon in Libra

The New Moon

If you followed the Moon through the 12 Houses of the zodiac, you may want to follow the 8 Lunar Phases as I blog my way through those over this next 8-phase cycle in the next 30 days.  It’s a good time to start this journey–the Moon is just entering the NEW PHASE.

NEW MOON [in LIBRA] lunar phase starts early tomorrow, September 24th, 2014,  around 2 AM EASTERN.  But this information is applicable to any New Moon in any month as far as learning more about the New Moon itself is concerned.  A NEW MOON happens every month and some people are born under a NEW MOON.

When it’s the NEW MOON, it is time to plant new seeds for the new lunar cycle.  There are 8 lunar phases; therefore each phase lasts about 3 to 4 days.

The quality of the seeds of the mind and heart today and tomorrow set up mood/emotions/heart’s desires for the entire month.  And since this month the NEW MOON occurs in LIBRA, we add that this is  especially true with regard to relating to others [Libra].  Again, this is because this (September 2014) New Moon is in the sign of Libra.

Understanding where we’ve been to know where we’re going

As the New Moon relates to ‘the psychic’ and doing readings, etc., it is good to remember that when there’s a New Moon, our psyche has just exited the Balsamic phase.  What does that mean?  Well, I just posted about the 12th house Moon transit and so that gives the idea because the 12th house of the zodiac is like the balsamic phase of the Moon.  [Familiar territory for me for another reason:  my Moon is Balsamic to my Sun in my natal chart, indicating my whole life is like one big ole’ 12th house/balsamic phase.]  But before I digress further,  back to the topic.  The New Moon phase follows the Balsamic.  In order to understand the New Moon properly, the Balsamic Moon from which it births needs to be understood a bit.  The Sun and Moon merge during the balsamic phase and there is an opening to spirit world at that time.

From the Balsamic Phase to the New Phase

The balsamic lunar phase, where the Moon is just exiting, began with a very deep psychic sensitivity where alternate realities make themselves known to the psychic in the process of divination.  Ghosts show up in this phase; its like Halloween the veils have been thin. Balsamic is the phase most associated with mediumship.

Communication from loved ones on the other side, spirit guides and angels are more common for everyone during this lunar phase but more so for the psychic.  Imagination and visions are at their peak.  The archetype here is one of merging with Divine Will, surrender and a willingness to go into the abyss.  More than any other time of the month, the psychic in the balsamic phase wants to withdraw from life.  Those, like myself, who were born when the Moon is in the Balsamic Phase, as mentioned above, may grapple with these feelings their entire life.

In the balsamic phase there is a search for ultimate meaning and the desire is strong to turn ones back to the physical world.  We are more willing, when the Moon is in the balsamic phase, more than at any other time to ask questions like, “What is the nature of reality?”, “What is the nature of the mind?” Or “Where do we go when we die?”

We recognize the illusion of time and physical matter much more easily when the Moon is balsamic.  A psychic who is comfortable in this realm already is able to, very lovingly,  go so deeply that they enter into “the universes of spirit world” and experience a liberation and freedom as well as wisdom  that… well, that helps one keep going through the next lunar cycle starting again with the New Moon.

Now the New Phase — The Dark of the Moon, also known as the New Phase 0 to 45°

This time of the month the doors to the other worlds still are open (see Balsamic Phase above).  The Moon is starting to separate from the Sun and the impulse is to bring ‘that’ something divine which the merging of Sun and Moon created into the world.  Things are conceived in the dark of the balsamic and new phase.

It is a good time to trust the heart over reason.  The psychic work in this phase should be permitted to be instinctual.  Dane Rudhyar says, in describing the energy of this phase, that we see an impulse for action, challenging the old with an eagerness to overcome obstacles

The mood may be one of initiation–a desire to initiate something new, give it a try, see how it works.  Something was born in the last few days as the moon was balsamic and now the emotional desire is to initiate something new in some way.  And we have the clue of Libra since this month’s new Moon occurs here–we have partnerships or other people in some way which will likely be part of a new idea or the emotional birthing… like a baby taking it’s early first steps.

[On a personal note, I’ve been feeling the intensity of the 12th house very acutely lately.  I didn’t realize until this moment that not only was the Moon transiting my 12th house but it has been in the balsamic phase which relates acutely with 12th house energy.  No wonder I feel a huge emotional shift right now.  The Moon moved out of the 12th house and out of the balsamic phase and into the New Moon phase.]

Channeling the Moon, Stars and Night Sky to Inspire One’s Unique Creation – My Psychic Story

Fairy on a Moonlit Beach
Fairy on a Moonlit Beach

Who I AM is really quite like that image of the lone fairy on the beach there.

I am here alone, was born alone and will die alone—as we all do.  My work is the same way—I work alone and my work is my own creation and I say that with a grain of salt because my work is in harmony, I feel, with higher forces under whose guidance the psychic course was created.  And from scratch mind you.  If you have an independent entrepreneurial nature too, then you will relate to my story.

I had minimal training and then through the force of life found myself with $6 in my pocket and no money in the bank, no credit and only my car and one small suitcase.  And it was from that level that I began to do readings to support myself and to keep the wolves away from my door, so-to-speak.

It is channeled—the whole thing and it is a creation of a bare, pure spirit turned to the Moon and Stars and Night Sky for help and guidance and inspiration.  That last word is the best—inspiration.  I breathed in the Moon, Stars and Sky and the psychic course came out because it was created from my own journey and my own life experiences woven through and through.

It has been online available to nourish others who seek it out while the income continues to support me and keep the wolves away from my door—a door that I am grateful to live behind and for which I am ever grateful.  Shelter, clothes, food and the basic essentials and the ability to keep sharing as inspiration comes to me—this is the cornerstone of my life.

I love my work and the ability to communicate with students who come to the course and need questions answered.  The course stands alone and stands for itself, just as I do and there’s nothing to change or add but I do nurture its growth somewhat by writing a weekly newsletter to support the students and also for the general public.

The Moon and Stars and Sky still inspire me in this way; yet I’m called in an additional direction for the past… well, since my last astrologically progressed New Moon (January 2008).  And that direction is astrology itself.  Just last night, in fact, while revisiting Brady’s book on Transits and Progressions, I saw notes I made in the margins dating back to 2007.  Really?  I was a bit surprised at how long I’d been studying astrology!  I began to get more or less serious about it when I bought Brady’s book and a number of others at that time; yet my study of astrology goes back even further.  It is said that whatever is started at the new moon represents that next 28 to 29 year phase and that there’s no going back to anything after the New Moon projects are begun—and they seriously began then.

The psychic class is fully established and growing in popularity and perhaps because of this people who want to jump in and on the bandwagon seem to be crawling out of the woodwork lately.  I’ve had solicitations from people who want to advertise on my website, others who want to personally mentor my students and take over the group to practice their leadership skills (Really? Go get your own group!) and by the way can you imagine that? And there are others who want me to take all my students and hire them to work for me and make money off their labors and oh, by the way those others will take commission and I just turn over my creations to them.  Are you kidding me?  And then we have those who want to be my personal secretary and write my newsletters for me and take my calls and schedule my appointments—you can’t be serious!

(More on this later but Neptune transiting through  my 7th House –and that will make sense for those familiar with astrology.)

Strangely, it feels like I’ve been in this place before where the vulchers come to feed off my creations.  It all shows up in my various charts—return charts as well as transits and progressions—the same theme is there right now.

On a soul level, the polarity point to my Pluto is the 6th house and this area of life relates to using discernment or not being blindly trusting that everyone’s intentions are wholly altruistic – a mistake in naiveté that I’ve made in past life associations.

Anyway, getting current…. combining intuitive faculties with soul astrology is where I am being called to put my energy in addition to renewing relationship connections with my family since my relocation.

The psychic class is my most joyful creation aside from my children—both of which originate from beyond my meager personal existence of which I am only a part but all do bear my name.  And speaking of bear (or bears), I’ve had the bear totem showing up everywhere in my life lately but then again the Sun is making a conjunction to my natal Pluto right now and that combo sort of reminds me of bear energy.

Mama bears protect their babies the same way that I feel protective about my reputation, career and creations in the world—it’s an ‘energy thing’ if you get my meaning.  So I’ve got to keep an eye out for those vulchers who seem to be everywhere lately.

Rob Hand (famous astrologer) talks about Nefarious Neptune in the 7th house of what the old astrologers call “the house of open enemies” as people who try to deceive you and/or misrepresent themselves.    Yeah, well, let’s not be paranoid but by the same token let’s not be blind to that possibility either.  When Neptune crosses through the 7th, one must use care not to be duped by others if you know what I mean; that’s all I’m sayen’.  And according to Rob, avoid partnering up with anyone.

I’ve never been one to partner up with others anyway except for my 20 year marriage; but even in that, with Aquarius on the cusp of the 7th (and yes, his Sun was in Aquarius), I was still pretty much a loner even in the marriage.  I’m independent and respect others who are independent as well–he was.

I love teaching and helping others but I don’t wish to partner up with anyone in my work or in my personal life and that’s how I’m wired and I don’t resist my own nature.

Yeah, so anyway this is a blog and blah, blah, blah here I go again using this as a place to vent a bit.  But the deeper motivation with this blog is to explain myself – even if it seems that I am trying to explain me to my self (and maybe that’s so) it is this that motivated this post today.

Well, it was the picture of the fairy that motivated me along with the recent patterns with my work that I’m noting and responding to the best I can.

And with that said, I’ll bet many of you entrepreneur-types who come across these words and  who have created your own work, your own niche, will get where I’m coming from.

And just so that the rest of you know, we are not selfish and we are not snobs and we care deeply and what we do is our soul, our blood, and yes sweat and tears and before I start singing songs again…

“… spinning wheel got to go round… catch a painted pony, let the spinning wheel spin… you got no money, you got no home, spinning wheel, spinning all alone… ♫     —See? There I go again!

Let me end this with a post that I made on the Facebook today that, I feel, says it all…..

I am a dance teacher (in a way) and I love the dance and I love to dance and I love to see other people dance and the dance is what I’m all about but…

“Do the dance that you’ve been shown until the dance becomes your very own.  Meanwhile, get off my toes!”  –Joy Star, said with humor and love!

Tarot Guidance for Planting Hydrangea Bushes! 3 of Wands, Planting by the Moon Sign and Cycle! What’s Gemini got to do with it?

Connolly Tarot - 3 of wandsI turn to the tarot this morning to ask a practical question about planting three (3) Hydrangea bushes.  They are very small now and should go into the ground soon.  I’ve been debating about putting them in large pots versus planting them in the ground around the circle driveway.  My daughter and grandson are coming in three days and can help me dig the hole in the sometimes rocky ground.  It is on my mind today about how to proceed about these Hydrangea’s.  Can the Tarot help us with such practical, mundane life issues?  Let’s see!

Ha!  Well, it’s interesting because I drew the THREE OF WANDS (sometimes called RODS).  This sort of let me know right from the get-go of looking at the card that I’m tuned into the right issue based on numerology if nothing else.  The 3 WANDS clearly relate to the 3 plants (Hydrangea bushes) in question!  Its meaning also includes planning ahead and using foresight.

In the picture on the Connolly Tarot Card there are green leafs growing on the 3 wands (no flowers) but on the Hanson Deck we see flowers budding on the end of the wands.

Anyway, this card is one that typically announces that help is available – “Someone is willing to give you assistance”.  This is clearly represented by the person in the boat with his hand on his heart who seems to be conveying advice.

I will be going to a garden nursery today and will seek the advice of an experienced gardener there about the soil and while I know to get peat moss for the bottom of the hole that I must dig, I’m not sure about the soil.  That (soil information) is practical guidance and information I will seek from someone willing to help.

In the Hanson Tarot Card as it is with many other decks, we see the person waiting for the ships in the distance coming in while the man on the shore waits.  I think that I should wait for the help of my grandson and daughter—after all what’s a few more days?  I need to gather some local advice about the soil and get some supplies—peat moss, wood chips, some sort of border/boundary material to keep the grass out and then the right bag of potting soil if there is such a thing.  All that comes first.

There’s also the Moon sign to think about—when to plant things based on where the Moon is@!  I know it’s not good to plant during the FULL or the NEW Moon—currently, it’s neither.  The Moon is waxing and 38% toward FULL so this seems to be OK as far as the cycle goes… energy is building, not dying or waning.

Yet, I found this on google, “When you plant in an AIR sign, the Moon’s influence is channelled into the blossom growth. Plant all flowers and flowering plants.”  Yeah, maybe I should go ahead and put them in the ground today.  Hydrangea are flowering plants!  They should get into the ground before dark today because around 7 pm (EDT) the Moon moves into Cancer.  If you plant stuff like melons, grapes or high water fruit plants or lettuce and watercress, cabbage or spinach and stuff like that, when the Moon is in the water sign Cancer, it’s recommended.  I do have a concern about that area getting too much water as it is!

I totally better get going!  Using foresight and planning, I’ve considered the Moon sign and getting some advice by someone who is willing to give me assistance (a local gardener at the nursery in town).  While it wouldn’t be the end of the world to wait until my daughter and grandson arrive and plant while the Moon is in Cancer, just drawing this card and stopping to remember the Moon cycle planting methods had been helpful.  I’m planting today!  I want those plants to FLOWER and if planting when the Moon is in Gemini will help that—I won’t wait!  Like I said, better get going!  Opps, I just realized one other connection—3 hydrangeas, 3 of wands and Gemini (where the Moon is today) rules the 3rd house in astrology!
