When the Moon transits the 2nd and 3rd Houses

Moon Transits 2nd and 3rd House

What is the purpose or benefit of knowing the houses in astrology and which house your Moon is in at any given time of the month? Divination and Divine Timing — to know astrology is to have a handle on that, as least to some extent.  Yes, the Moon moves quickly and goes through each house once a month.  What is a house?  It’s an area of life.  And the Moon relates to our sense of happiness, feelings of security.  If we work in harmony with astrology, we know ourselves and what times of the month are typical for particular feelings to surface or to be more prominent or prevalent than other times.  Why not work with that knowledge—be in cooperation with the natural energy of the Moon and the Psyche and Life Itself?

Examples?  Why try to deal with money issues when the Moon is in your 11th house?  You natural inclination would be to perhaps visit with friends or do other 11th house things.  Suppose you have a health issue and you want to know what day this month would be good to make the doctor appointment?  When the Moon transits the 6 house would be typically the best time because the emotional/feeling nature will be in harmony with that.

I found this system valid for myself when beginning to notice one time of the month—every month—when I wanted to just disappear and not speak to anyone!  Whenever this happened, this feeling, I’d look to see where the Moon was.  Each and every time it was in my 12th house.  Yeah, I began to see a pattern.  So why not work with it more consciously? Thus, my reason for these posts on the Moon’s monthly transits through the houses!

Now that the method behind this madness has been revisited, my 2nd and 3rd house have recently had a visit from the transiting Moon.

We look first of all to the archetype of the house itself.  The 2nd house (ruled by Venus and Taurus) relates to money, what is valued, self-worth, self-reliance and the 3rd house (ruled by Mercury and Gemini) relates to communication, conversation, left brain activity, thinking, business, short trips, correspondence, neighbors and siblings.

As mentioned in the previous post about the 1st House, there are other influences affecting how that Moon is going to express—namely, the other planets and signs in your particular house and aspects the Moon may be making to other planets in the chart.  But let’s stick with the basics for the purpose of this blog post.

MOON TRANSIT OF THE 2ND HOUSE

When the Moon transits through your 2nd house, it’s a good time to pay attention to money concerns and where you stand with your monthly budget.  If you deal with that, you will find it to be very satisfying and boost your feelings of security.  This is a good time to come up with ideas to bring in extra cash as well—the Moon’s energy will naturally be focusing your psyche in this area anyway, so go with it.

A 2nd house lunar transit is a good time to review why you are worthy and contemplate what it is you really value and how you offer value to the world—this type of pep talk will enhance your feelings of security and happiness.

Review your resources, think of all the opportunities you have to provide for your self and how you are doing so; this, too, will help your mood.  Remind yourself how you have proven yourself ‘to’ yourself, no matter what others may think.  Think of everything you have achieved and then pay your bills knowing whatever you send out returns to you multiplied—make this the mantra.

Personal Note:  When the Moon moved through my 2nd house a few days ago, I looked at my own money situation and this is something that is always on the mind anyway.  Why? Because my BIRTH MOON is in my 2nd house so this is a life-long consideration for me.  My work was busy on the 2nd day that the Moon moved through my 2nd house money came to me from another source as well.

MOON TRANSIT OF THE 3RD HOUSE

What makes you happy at this time? What brings you feelings of security and comfort?  Well, it has to do with learning something, teaching something and speaking, finding the voice somehow.  You may be sensitive to tones in other people’s voices at this time and the tone of your own voice may be very self-revealing when Luna visits your 3rd house.  Your curiosity could be high and you may find that Google is your best friend and your mood would promote research of some kind—data collection.  Those things could be very satisfying and the Moon energy would encourage that.  Speaking up for yourself, saying what’s on your mind—this too would be comforting for you.  This is the time of the month to do it—it will feel great to say it like it is!

You may feel inclined to make phone calls and answer Emails and connections with neighbors or siblings would be gratifying at this time.

Personal Note:  My curiosity involved something more or less physical—I wondered if I could start jogging but the Moon was right on top of Mars and it activated my inner warrior who wanted to “Run, Forrest, Run”. [Quote from movie:  Forrest Gump/Tom Hanks] Also, I did communicate via Email at length with several students.  I’ll also mention that I did receive more than usual amount of Emails from people asking about the psychic class.  Also, I felt very drawn to go to the library several times as the Luna ran through my 3rd house, but just never made it there.  If I had, I’d have really enjoyed it or the Moon would have supported that emotionally.  Then again, I’m always happy at the Library.  A reason for that is that my birth Mercury, ruler of the 3rd is IN the 3rd–so library ‘stuff’ is strong with me anyway, all the time.  See how this works?

I hope my sharing my own lunar transits are helpful to the reader and that my posts of the Moon’s monthly movement through the houses are helpful and have piqued the reader’s interest in the valuable subject of astrology.

It is, in my opinion, such a valuable thing to know to aid in self-understanding but also in understanding others and working in harmony with them.

The Moon is currently in my 4th house for the next day or so…  but that’s for the next blog post.   Yay!  I’ve now caught up with my own Moon!

When the Moon Transits Your 1st House

When The Moon Travels through Your First House

Moon in the First House

Intention:   to blog the Moon through the houses starting with the First House Moon and starting now and to use my chart as an example but being as objective as possible.

So let’s start with the meaning of the Moon itself and recall that it resonates with feelings and emotions and in the sky it changes its amount of visible light through its monthly phase. But for the purpose of the blog for the next 30 days, my plan is to simply discuss the houses.  (We’ll leave Moon phases, signs and aspects out of  it for now.)

For example, if you see your Moon traveling through your second house, a way to work in harmony with the Moon’s energy in order to feel … well, to feel harmonious or  to be in synch with your emotional nature and in order to enhance happiness, those 2 or 3 days of each month would be a good time put your finances in order.

That’s going to be the underlying connection in the psyche’ anyway (2nd house/finances), why not use this knowledge and cooperate with the energy?  During the few days each month that the Moon is moving through your seventh house, for example, you will likely be drawn to giving some quality time to your relationship.  If you know your relationship partner’s chart, you might imagine just how beneficial it would be know when the Moon is moving through their seventh house too!

Timing for scheduling family gatherings, career presentations and many other areas of your life can be enhanced through knowing when the Moon moves through your houses.

Even if you don’t schedule an event or activity based on your Moon transit, you can at least understand your own energy patterns and use the map of your chart to know yourself and other people better.  Of course, that happens with all the planets and the whole chart too.  The Moon is 1 out of 12; but it’s an important one—our feelings of security and happiness are connected to the Moon energy.

I love astrology because there’s no other system like it in which we can reap the benefits of consciously working in cooperation with natural forces! These forces are those that are recognized as we begin to awaken and as we really observe our life.  Astrology is a structure that helps us see the order of those forces. Once realized through astrology, we can get in touch with that energy and work in harmony with it instead of struggling against it, enhancing self-understanding, understanding of others… and well… so many other benefits…but mostly we get those types of jaw-dropping types of realizations that enhance the feeling of magic and awe for the universe and divine forces.

Getting back to the Moon now… I like to think of the Moon as one giant crystal in the sky that affects our emotions, our heart… our soul.

Astrologer, Steven Forrest, is often quoted as saying, “The Sun is the Secret of sanity and the Moon is the Secret of Happiness.”

Happiness is an emotion, after all, and so it’s right up the Moon’s legendary alley.

I won’t spend many more paragraphs describing the Moon’s archetype assuming you wouldn’t have read this far if you didn’t already have at least a small “feel for” the Moon (pardon the pun).

But what about the FIRST HOUSE and when the Moon Moves through it?  How does the Moon moving through the FIRST HOUSE area of our life affect our heart, our soul, our feelings, our security and our happiness?

I think it’s fair to think of EGO when you think of the first house.  We need our ego’s after all and if we give a few days a month to acknowledge it and appease them, well… that doesn’t seem like too much to ask.  This area of our life relates to the physical body, self-image, physical accomplishments… we’re very aware of how we are seen or viewed when the Moon moves through our firs house. Yet, sometimes we want to keep a mask on and keep people at a distance at this time too and that would be typical.

We’re talking about an outward area of our life, our physical issues including appearance, and instinctual behaviors –the Moon is not about thinking, it’s about responding from the heart, the soul, and the emotional center that is triggered resulting in outward physical behaviors.

When the Moon moves through anyone’s first house (and it does this once a month) it triggers a Mars/Aries warrior within and so there may be  a competitive edge or quality to one’s emotions and an attraction to some type of physical endeavor.  On the other side of the coin repressed anger could surface as the Moon moves through the first house as well.  The paragraph below is optional and not necessary for our purposes but is only for the interested reader.  Feel free to skip over the next paragraph if it sounds confusing:

OPTIONAL PARAGRAPH:  If a person knows the sign on the cusp of that house as well as any other signs in the first house, this gets blended in or factored in with the core Moon and 1st house Combo energy.  Not to mention—but I will—the aspects the Moon makes to other planets  and the phase that the Moon itself happens to be in as it moves through first house.  All that plays into the outward behaviors that are possible due to the Moon’s transit there.  You sort of blend it all into a pot like soup but some chucks are bigger than others but let’s not go there now.   I need to keep things simple for this blog—just the house and the Moon are the main course for my purpose here.

If you know someone who suddenly wants their space and to keep you at a distance and goes suddenly for a “new look” in their physical appearance, Luna may be moving through their first house. New ‘anything’ relates to the first house and so does freedom and independence.

Some things you may want to do when the Moon moves through your first house appearance factors like getting a haircut or a new hairdo or a new outfit—anything that would enhance the appearance to change the self-image would be in line with the energy.  Sometimes we need to feel a sense of freedom and have a desire to be alone—Aries, after all, is about freedom and independence and it rules the first house naturally.

The first house can be like the first hour of the morning or the first few moments—there’s a feeling of fragility as one comes to this point of awakening and you need space.  The spirit here wants unrestrained joy and unrestrained freedom.  If there was a time of the month in which we would be rediscovering ourselves and changing our image to match that new discovery, it would be when the Moon transits the first house.

Relationships feel more strained at this time—other people may not understand this new image you create or that you suddenly need more freedom to discover and express the next new aspect of yourself in the world.

Any needy people in your life are likely to feel disappointed with your energy response to them at this time.

There actually are times when to be free and alone is more important than anything else—that would be a Lunar first house time.

We need this time to consider our own self-image and possibly try those new changes:  a different outfit than you normally wear, new glasses or the new hairdo.

But whether you redress yourself in some way or if it’s only a desire to change the physical appearance, you will likely be asking those questions that go along with that kind of thing such as, “Who am I? And What am I doing here?

Personal Observations of the First House Moon Transit

  • The Moon crossed over into my first house on my daughter’s birthday and I wore my hair down that day (at least partially).  Just for the record as it relates to this First House Moon transit, I always wear my hair up in a ponytail.  Actually I look different and feel different with the hair down.
  • I purchased a pair of weight lifting gloves (because I was starting to get callouses on my hands from the gym) and while I’m not sure yet how beneficial they are, I notice that this makes me feel more like a more serious exerciser as far as my self-image is concerned.  I didn’t think about that connection until just now–i bought the gloves for practical reasons but I think it relates to my current first house lunar transit.
  •  I made a blog post about who I am and what I’m doing here when the Moon just entered my first house so that may have also been a lunar effect–CLICK TO READ.
  • I notice that I’ve felt more self-assured as I relate to others these past few days—more than usual which could be part of this whole blend of energy with Mar/Aries being the natural ruler of the first house.
  • The opposite polarity to house 1 is house 7.  House 7 is the house of relationships – the opposite house; so one affects the other due to its opposite polarity.  Relationships over these past few days have definitely changed the way I am seeing other people as well as myself!

If I think of any more personal examples to share that relate to the Moon transiting my first house, I will come back later  to add those to this post.  But what about your personal moon transit?

How the gym at the Y is like a past life monastery and a psychic on the spiritual path

gym-pool collage

I don’t need to try to convince you.  It wouldn’t do a bit of good in the least anyway. Some things you know, that’s all.  And it’s not because my work is doing psychic readings—everybody has things they know but can’t prove.  Past lives can be like that. Of course there’s also wishful thinking and self-delusion that has to be ruled out but like I said, if you know you know.

Its that way for me and Tibet and also the monastic way of life–feel certain I was a lowly and not very evolved monk once.
Still am in many ways I think; yet the monk thing is the topic for this post.

And the gym at the Y too.  I’ve been a swimmer there for a year and just in the past month have felt the attraction to climb the stairs to the upper level–the location of the gym.  (Maybe the intuition guided me there, knowing before the mundane mind did that I was going to need some muscles to lift and move boxes.)  Anyway…

I love it up there nearly as much as I love the pool, but no, the pool is my first love.  Yet, the gym reminds me so much of my lifetime as a monk in a monastery.  How’s that?  Well, it’s like this…

Every body, including the body of this self, has these ear-buds in the ears listening to their favorite music–or at least that’s what I’m doing.  (Michael Jackson’s song and his music is the muse for me.)   Nonetheless, whatever they are listening to, they all have earbuds in and they are all focused inward!  Yet together in the same place walking by one another, barely nodding, aware of others to a minimal extent and focused inward maximally.

Wow!  Respect, consideration, harmony but most everyone not plugged into anything but the inner self, the workout plan and their own body.  Love that!  Just really dig (to use an old hippie term) all that inward-ness aligned with the body and music.

Totally makes me think of a different lifetime in which I danced ballet in Russia–my parents pushed me and I had to dance but used it mostly to escape my body and my life.  It’s very similar to what I do now especially on the treadmill.  The machines do require a bit more focus and presence–but it’s still all inward.

I miss the Y but realize I’m getting attached to going—and we know that’s NEVER a good thing.  I have clients today and am using it as a rest day anyway since I did a lot of moving boxes into storage units and helping my sister pack, stack boxes and clean her carpet over the weekend too.

Balance in all things–that’s probably something learned in that ballet dancing lifetime in Russia.  I wonder if most of those peeps in the gym would relate their work outs on the machines and lifting weights as a type of meditation.  If they thought about it at all, I’m sure they would.

PS — i love the weight assisted chin up machine the best.  I’m lifting more of my own body weight than I did at the start.  I love the progress I see and of course the whole meditative experience of it and being with others sure does make me think of my days at the monastery — everybody in their own world then too, but in a whole different way!

Tomorrow I swim!  Wasn’t I a dolphin once?

Grand Cross – April Eclipses: Sometimes we have to body surf the waves in the ocean of life and trust the divine plan and divine intevention

body-surfDivination:  Keeping the big picture in mind; that’s always best when the going gets tough.  I’ve heard from people lately about that very thing–tough going.  Or in some cases, no going.   The universe (Life Itself) seems to work always to maintain balance and harmony–to reduce excess and fill emptiness.  Think about your life; don’t you see how that is true?

Sometimes we have to just keep our energy moving even when it doesn’t make full and complete sense.  We do it anyway because on some level we trust there’s a divine plan, a bigger picture, a state of balance that is being reached somehow–and we know we’re a part of that and when we keep moving we’re in harmony with that mystery.

No matter how hard we work to secure our place in the world, the possibility exists that we can suffer a loss or experience opposition from any number of sources.  We can’t always totally escape reality, but we can adjust our inner responses to external circumstances.

There are times (we all have them) when we’re tempted to roll belly-up in defeat.  Yet, we don’t do it.  We work with whatever arises in the moment the best way we can; we persevere as we roll with the waves.  Let’s face it; sometimes waves become so large and overwhelming that all we can do is point our body in the right direction and roll with them and then see where we are before the next one comes.  Yeah, we body surf if you know what I mean.

It’s true that in our lives we don’t always have control of everything in every moment.  Who or what does if not us?  Whatever it is that accounts for Divine Intervention–that;s what does, ultimately.  All we can do is work in harmony with it best we can–and sometimes that means we have to body surf even when we’ve temporarily lost sight of the shore, we trust the waves are going in the right direction.  Big breath, face down and let ourselves be moved!

Removing excess and filling emptiness–that’s what’s going on!  Hang in there!  Choose to keep the energy moving and what seems apparently insurmountable right now will be conquered!  Keep the energy moving, let go where you can, and cling only to trust and faith!  Let the waves handle the rest!

PS — times of increase will return to balance out decrease; that’s Life and that’s how the universe works.  We reap the rewards of abundance when we function from a willingness to share.  When we support others, we too are supported.

Archangel of Intuition, Joy, Venus, the Moon and Astrology – Meet Haniel

Archangel Haniel by Joy Star
Archangel Haniel

Recently, I was inspired (from the Angels?) to write about them in this week’s newsletter which was about the association of Archangels with Planets, Sun signs, and then obviously with the astrological signs.  That’s when I thought to look up the Archangel associated with my own sun sign. This blog post is the result of that data search and my thoughts about it….

Archangel Haniel is considered to be the Angel of Intuition and clairvoyance and is linked through the planet Venus ruling Taurus and Libra.

She also oversees astrology and spiritual healing.

She is also, it is said, thought to be the angel of “JOY”.

The lantern of joy has the power to bring light into any circumstances, no matter how dark they may be.  Haniel is sometimes pictured holding a lantern.

Haniel “brings harmony and balance wherever she goes” (Libra is always seeking harmony and balance), she is the Angel that, it is also said, reminds you to find fulfillment from within rather than trying to find happiness from outside yourself.

I am a Libra Sun (Haniel rules Venus and therefore the signs Taurus and Libra).   I relate and feel a connection (very much so) to Archangel  Haniel.

Thinking back, its no wonder that my spirit guides assigned the name “Joy”  to me decades ago; long before I knew anything about archangels. It makes perfect sense now and that realization gives me chills!

I was born with many planets in the Venus-ruled sign of Libra including Venus itself along with my Sun, Moon and Neptune.  Is it any wonder that this “joy angel”,  who is so often depicted with a smile on her face, is linked so strongly to me with my birth occurring with so many planets in Libra, imprinting my soul with Haniel energy?

In my psychic class I mention that everyone has a “joy guide” –this whole “joy guide” thing being something that I was taught by my own psychic trainer from the beginning.  My instructor never mentioned the name Haniel,  but I was enthralled and enchanted by the idea of a joy guide back then and now pass on the information about having a “joy guide”  to my own psychic development students.

If you see green or turquoise light around you, Haniel may be nearby, say believers.  Looking back at the colors on my website and newsletter now, I do wonder if Haniel may have had her influence when I chose those colors for my web pages.

I am her, she is me, we are one.

Turquoise is a balanced blend of green and blue. It helps to develop our unique individuality. It is the New Age of Aquarius that encourages us to seek spiritual knowledge.

Haniel is said to have a special connection to the Moon (me too!)   If there was an Archangel associated with ASTROLOGY, it would be her–or at least this is the case based upon the numerous websites and books that I’ve referenced.

I feel her smile and joy growing within me today and will carry her on my shoulder today by thinking of her often and asking her to penetrate my life with more of her energy.

Non-Self and Illusion of Emotion – How to Hold Your Horses and Not Get Pulled In

The Illusion of Emotion Hold Your Horses and Don’t Get Pulled In

Hold Your Horses and Don’t Get Pulled In
“Hold Your Horses” and Don’t Get Pulled In

On the subject matter of non-self, consciousness, awareness, spiritual awakenings and psychic energy, I recently posted this Nisargadatta quote on Facebook:

“On what we think as REAL taking your idea of yourself for example: “You cling to personality, but you are conscious of being a person only when you are in trouble; when you’re not in trouble you do not think of yourself.”

And I did so because I came to this quote rather magically (I believe in magic@!) after having an experience that relates to the quote itself.

Someone asked, “But how do we overcome thinking about ourselves when not in trouble?”

Logical question; good question I suppose.  Surely, I don’t have all the answers but perhaps my humble speculation will be of some use to someone, other than my self.  Let me share my experience and that may be self-explanatory.

The other day I was in a place of no-fear, no- desire, non-attachment and  for the most part this is what we may call a contented happiness state.  I say it that way because extreme happiness – or the kind of cartwheels in the street and jumping up and down type of glee is really the result of some type of attachment.  But life itself, the marriage of consciousness to life is contented happiness.   A state of (for the most part) non-self, just merged with the harmony of life, flowing in harmony with what is and this type of non-self.  No strong desire, no craving, no yearning, no fear, no anger, no frustration—like that.   Those are states that attach us to self—thinking of our self.  We may say, as the Buddhists do, that these are states of self-cherishing.

I was in such a state of flow with life; neither here nor there; doing what comes natural; no strong push or desire—and just letting the mind become blank periodically.  And then—DRAMA WALKS IN THE DOOR!

So here comes this energy around me and it feels like it sucks you into your body.  In fact we have expressions like this—“I got sucked into that” or we say “I got pulled into it”.  That’s how it felt quite dramatically and literally.  My ‘self’ wanted to become engaged with the energy and I felt my consciousness being pulled back into ‘self’ when moments earlier I was in a state (more rather than less) of non-self:  no fear, no desire, no attachment—only flow.  Now the flow was being yanked and tugged by my ‘sense of self’–mostly self-identity.

You know how it goes when one begins to feel insulted, right?  That feeling comes up in us and we say things like, “Do they know who they are talking to?!”  It’s ME, the all-important ‘me’!!  Yeah, personality was starting to think about how it was receiving an insult.

I’ve heard it said, “A spark of truth can burn up a mountain of lies.”   The truth that I could return to being an atom of existence or let myself be pulled in was before me—a choice.

When I remembered this—when I remembered that the energy which the personality was being tempted to wrestle with, the energy that was starting to be sucked in by the personality began to  dissolved once I remembered the nature of reality being illusion.

Oh yeah, trust me—I know.  Been there and done that so many times I’m an expert at making illusion really real!  It’s all a play of cosmic matter.

When we become identified personally with any energy we become a slave to it.

When, on the other hand we remember what I heard my higher mind saying at that moment that I began to become sucked in which was IT’S NOT REAL, the “self” subsides and mind merges back into the previous state of no fear, no desire, no attachments, no anger, no craving and so on—everything decreases and wanes and subsides into silence.

Then we stand apart from the illusion having not been sucked in and we become master of the energy instead of the other way around.

Footnote:  I am grateful for the experience from the Drama Queen because I don’t think I’ve experienced the energy quite so clearly and witnessed the two opposite states so dramatically and felt the pull in such a profound way!

July 4th 2012 Energy of the Psyche

It’s a trine and sextile kind of  E-Z does it day!
TODAY (7/4) Mercury sextiles Venus –>communication issues of the past could be featured in a big way as each person examines their own needs and values today.  Harmonious conversation and interaction is generally desired however.
Mercury also trines Uranus –> Thoughts can easily wander into to the subconscious mind areas and these could include childhood issues of being in a body as a child. Also this aspect can enhance one’s intuitive nature and messages from spirit can filter through today without much effort, stay aware. 🙂   Inventive energy comes from the easy pathway from these two planets.
Also, Venus sextiles Uranus today –> Unusual or bold communications could happen, but for the most part people will likely want to break away or break free in order to determine their own needs for harmony and rest and they will likely tell you about it!   An idea may come to you out of the blue  for a creative project today or this week!  Explore it–it comes from a level of mind where inspirations live! 🙂

May these astrological alignments in the heavens and thus the psyche enhance your day today!

Trust — in Doing Psychic Work, Using Intuition and in Life Generally; Can we control the weather with our mind?

Some things we may as well trust as not.  The weather will be what it is and we trust that; mostly we trust that because we can’t do anything about it—we surrender knowing it will be whatever it will be.  Why do we humans have such a hard time trusting other parts, portions or pieces of our life?  Is it because we believe that we “do” have control?  Is that why we have such a difficult time surrendering and trusting?  Is the inability to trust the outcome of our ego-attachment to the idea that we can control life on all levels?  Do these popular new-age-ish teachings like the Law of Attraction and The Secret confuse us when it comes to ideas manifestation that rule out soul-purpose and issues of the karmic past, cause and effect, group karma, etc.?  I’m just asking because there seems to be confusion in people about all this.

I’m just asking—just contemplating this whole trust thing. We trust that our next breath will come in time and that our heart is going to beat its next.  It is something we take for granted — we don’t think much about it, we trust this mystery and magic that keeps us alive.  We breathe in and out; and our heart beats all the time without thinking about it.  Talk about the Law of Attraction!  HA! There it is; think about it.  The lungs are empty and the next breath comes exactly when needed—Law of Attraction!  Who needs to write a series of books and go on tour giving a thousand lectures about it or pretend they are channeling some master from a star system far, far away!?  We can simply observe these human body parts working in unison to know what trust is—and what it isn’t.  And while we contemplate that, we can also realize that there is a lot to be grateful for within a simple breath.

Is trust about believing in aspects of life that work without our direction and control like the breath and the heartbeat?  Intuition, I believe, is just like that—its working all the time, been there all along and most people barely realize the intuition, like the breath and heartbeat, is there and working without their interference 100% of the time.  Being psychic and intuitive is like your next breath and heart beat—it is functioning beneath your level of awareness, is automatic as well as mysteriously magical.  The questions are, “Can you trust it?” and a “Do you surrender to it?” – It’s like the weather you know?  You may as well.

Yet, I’d have to add that we learn a good deal about our life when we try to control it all and the ego takes its bows for the automatic functioning of the body, mind and spirit–really, it’s laughable if you think about it.

Sometimes, I think my strong desire and intent controls the weather—is that delusion, illusion or is there something to it?  Can I do it all the time 365 days a year or 24 hours a day?  No; and if I could, it would be 67 degrees, sunny and cloudless all the time. Yet, there are times when I need it not to rain… like when I’m finishing up my yard work, unloading a truck full of firewood or trying to get my walk in for the day.  I turn my eyes skyward and ask the nature devas (but sometimes I forget to ask and it still works anyway) to hold off on the rain until I get finished.  I cannot tell you the number of times that the second that I’ve completed the task (and I mean the second!), the rain began to fall in torrent.  If you’d have been there with me, you’d have been impressed with the timing!

At those times, however, I was willing to let be what needed to be with the weather but my surrendering to trusting that if it could be done, it would be; otherwise I surrender to getting wet on that occasion.  It gets more complicated when we see those folks who live in Florida (for a while I was one of them) who used their mind and intention to steer Hurricanes away.  Illusion, delusion, coincidence or do we have the ability to steer a storm on occasion?  Does an attempt to control the weather with the mind always work?  You tell me.  How many times have you wanted a white Christmas and gotten one and other times it didn’t snow one flake?

But then this post today is more about trust and the ability to surrender.  You’ve been breathing all the time that you’ve been reading this without thinking about it—that required a certain amount of trust and surrendering of make-believe control.  We can take the breath in our hands and control its length, duration and intensity; but we have a life!  Some things (like that) fortunately get handled for us automatically.  Life is a lot like that; we read a book or hear some inspirational speaker tell us how we can control our life and we apply the techniques and get a result here and there just the way we take up our very breath and control that and the heart rate as well with our actions and intentions.  Then we seem to try to convince ourselves that we have the keys to the kingdom so-to-speak.  How much of that is accurate?  Do we?  How much is going to happen automatically without our conscious attempts at participation and control?

As far as intuition is concerned, we will discover through our careful observations that we’ve been intuitive all along and the earth rotates on its axis and the sun rises each day and the next breath happens without our control.  It will rain or it won’t; we trust that.  If we can practice trusting our next inhalation and heartbeat and learn to observe it consciously, intentionally and if we can learn to trust these mysteries and this magic that happen naturally and unconsciously (weather is a good example), then we see that there is Divine Timing and that we participate in it and with it; we do not control it.  If we can trust that, then we can trust our intuition and we can understand the meaning of the word—trust.  Learn to do intentionally something that you usually do naturally and automatically; that is not only about trust but it is also being self-aware and awake.

Observe the divine breath within you and then you will be able to receive your own intuitive messages and have a personal understanding of what it means to trust and to be in the flow of your own intuitive wisdom. And maybe once in a while you will see that the weather, too, moves in harmony with this process called you or better said [capital Y] You, the Greater You that is We and All That Is.

Final thought–we do attract what we need (Law of Attraction if you’d like) and sometimes we need it to rain and sometimes not; sometimes we need our lover to leave us and sometimes not and sometimes we need lots of money and sometimes not.  Sometimes our breath and heart stops and sometimes not–trust is about surrendering to the idea that we receive exactly what we need–and we receive it exactly when and how we need it.  Trust that if your ego will let you. 🙂
