Waxing Gibbous Moon Phase – October 2014

waxing gibbous moon2

Well, here we are, in the Gibbous Moon Phase and the day Moon here is big and glorious!  One can see the sunset in the west and the moon in the east at days end!  Magical stuff really if you let yourself go there!   I mean linger in the view of the Moon and Sun, contemplate it, and really enjoy@!

Well, my Lunar enthusiasm gets me going–pardon.  Akhhemm, [clearing throat and getting serious now] so Gibbous Phase and in 3 days the Moon will be gloriously full.
The Waxing Gibbous Moon; the Separation from the Sun is now 135 – 180°

This is the last part of the waxing phase in the Lunar Cycle… after the Full (180°), the Moon begins to “wane” and the cycles are tagged with that word.   In the last phase [waxing First Quarter] the words ‘forewarned is forearmed’ and that was about the old shells of old energy that litters the field of consciousness and about repudiating the past [patterns of consciousness].  Commitment has been growing and takes hold fully in this phase.

In this Gibbous phase there may be feelings of partnership or teamwork which predominate and are very strong.  One may be very aware of more than one spirit guide present during psychic work; they’ve been there all along but now the Sun shines upon them within our consciousness.   The psychic may feel a full-on commitment to their work.   There may be a stronger than usual impulse to engage with the world in some type of service and commitment therein becomes solidified. There is that feeling that comes with this type of inner dialogue now:   ‘Okay, now I know for sure I’m on the right path and I know what I’m doing and where I’m going or at least I know what I need to do now.’

We should all be feeling that to some extent as the Moon grows fuller over the next few days.  This phase happens once a month–so you haven’t miss it if you and NOT reading his in the October 2014 timing.  Save these posts and revisit the Moon phases again next month.  The greatest thing about the Lunar cycle is that it’s monthly!  Anyway…

There is a strong awareness now of needing others to do psychic work—both those in spirit world and in the human realms.  A little self-analysis at this time goes a long way.   The psychic work here may be adjusted and tweaked or the psychic may consider doing the work just a little bit differently than in the past.

Now we have ‘gone over the waterfall’ so-to-speak and we are independently and fully committed to what we intended during the New Moon several weeks ago [ on September 24th to be exact ].  Whether we were conscious of it or not, the New Moon energy set something into motion [positive or negative] and now we have it clearly before us in one way or another.

Co-operation is a key word for this lunar phase as well as co-creation.  The desire underlying motivation toward this co-operation with others and they with us is fellowship–networking, team players and meaningful connections are expected now.

RED FLAG WISDOM:  A red flag in this phase is that because we are so willing to compromise and create with others, those who like to take advantage for their own purposes can do so too easily — so discernment is also highly associated with this phase of the Moon.  Not being to gullible or trusting or naive–because we have a natural feeling now to co-operate with others, if we don’t use discernment, we can become victims.  Everyone wants to be loved and appreciated but there are those who will use that to their own advantage, so that’s one thing to know and be aware of at this time.  Word to the wise as they say.

In this Waxing Gibbous Phase, the Sun and Moon are 4 or 5 signs apart. This months’ Gibbous Phase cycle began at 15° Aquarius.  The same element–thus the cooperation.  Aquarius is an Air sign and so is Libra where the Moon was when this cycle began–two air signs co-operate well.

So the Sun and Moon are at ease and in accord and the energy now can be easily harnessed.

Astrologer Dane Rudhyar says that people who are born with their Moon in this phase are eager to contribute meaningfully to society and they may devote their life to a cause.  People born in this Virgo-type cycle (ruled by Mercury) have keen minds and a way of connecting the dots with ideas.

Verbal abilities will be strong now with the Sun/Moon relationship being in air signs.

The Gibbous phase allows for adjustments and preparation.  Personally, I’ve felt that part most of all–the need for preparation.  I’ve been getting paperwork together, making photocopies and doing that Virgo-type thing that is associated with that intention that I had back at the New Moon and that I’ve received hints will be manifesting.  I got a call during the New Moon and was told what paperwork is needed and while the Moon was in this phase I’ve had a strong pull to get that done.  Like I said, preparation and adjustments are a strong part of this Mercury ruled phase.

We can be doing self-analysis in this phase too–that’s part of the internal adjustment mentioned above and thus, humility is associated with this phase as well.  And personally I must add the word “awe” to this phase from my own perspective.  Gemini-like internalization leading to action.

There is an inner feeling of wanting to be prepared so that there is no rejection on any level in the next phase  Feelings of inferiority need to be conquered in this phase and one will be helped in many ways to feel worthy in preparation for the upcoming Full Moon energy–that is if during the Waxing First Quarter phase one didn’t let doubt crumble the structure or get tripped up in the wasteland of old patterns.

In this phase the self talk must be similar to these types of words and phrases:  “I deserve this.  It is not too much to ask.  I don’t listen to other people’s criticisms and have confidence and I do not defer to others.  I am worthy–equal, deserving.  I have good karma.  I am prepared.  Everything will go well.  I remain humble yet deserving.”

I have not revealed on the blog what seeds I planted during the New Moon–not yet or many not ever.  I am keeping that under my hat for now–at least for now.

See you at or after the Full Moon:  15° Aries!  October 8th, 2014, Wednesday.

How to Handle Paranoia, Suspiciousness and Uneasiness that comes from Fear of Loss or Betrayals of Trust – Ace of Pentacles Offers Wisdom

Before you even read this post, I must offer the Buddhist perspective which is something that can alleviate this suffering of uneasiness or fear.  That perspective goes this way.  There is no “I” to feel suspicious, paranoid uneasy or fearful.  The “I” or the “me” is the ego which suffers, clings and self-cherishes.  The ego is also the mirror for the projection outward of what is inside of self.  So the paranoia etc. has to do with afflictions of the ego-self from past which are misconceptions or what they would likely call the ‘karma of thought’ … or mental afflictions, obscurations.  Meditating on these concepts and also visualizing the lightbody… the clear, lumionous, pure lightbody can also alleviate the suffering of ego clinging–i.e. paranoia, jealousy, etc.

It happens, has happened and will likely continue to happen at one time or another to all of us on some level.  I’m talking about being double-crossed, betrayed, stolen from and other human-on-human offenses—either in this lifetime or another.  Those types of wounds go deep and create within the human soul wounds that become triggered from time-to-time and to some degree.  And those old hurts create a certain phobia, uneasiness, paranoia.

We may say things to ourselves like,  “They did it to me once and by gosh they’re not going to do it to me again if I have anything to say about it!”  Maybe you were stolen from by those you placed your trust in and shouldn’t have and now the soul is on a certain hyper vigilance when it gets triggered.  Call that paranoia if you like but what do we do about it?

I turned to the tarot, drew a card with issue in mind and asked, “How do we best handle it when we have these feelings?”

What I think of first is this saying we’ve often heard, “Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.”  But is that the right attitude to take?  Let’s see what wisdom we can derive from the ACE OF PENTACLES.

As I look at the card, two things come to mind.  One is about being grounded and another is about starting over as in new beginnings.  These are two archetypes of the combination of PENTALCES and ACES.

I am laughing at those keywords “grounded” and “new beginning” – it’s as if the oracle is clearly saying that the way to handle the paranoia is to find a way to ground in the NOW and to remember that each moment is a new beginning.  We, as humans, carry the past with us to some extend for it is all in our soul.  We’ve learned some hard lessons and don’t want to make those painful mistakes again; thus, the paranoia.  Something inside of us says, “Oh, no!  Not again; let me strike before someone strikes me first–or at the very least, I should take protective measures.”

Discernment is a big lesson—knowing who to trust and who NOT to trust.  We can get that confused.  How do we sort it out?  Well, turning to an oracle or using intuition can be helpful.

I’d say that when our stomach muscles are gripped, there is something trying to get our attention.  Are those feelings an over-reaction to be ignored or a warning to be heeded?

Sometimes we have to get some distance in order to know for sure which is which. We should not ignore these suspicious, uncomfortable feelings nor should we become a slave to them.

One way out of it is to apply a method called “The Work” by Byron Katie which is asking the self a the question, “Can I know for sure this is true?”,  “How does it feel when I think this thought?”  And “Who would I be without this thought?”

The Ace of Pentalces also relates, on an archetypal level, to nurturing the mind/body/spirit on a deep level.  A good healthy meal, an enjoyable exercise of some type or a good old-fashioned nap could help—that or whatever seems to nourish the soul.  Sometimes, for me, that’s watching a movie.

If the feelings of paranoia or suspicions about something or someone create the level uneasiness that is relieved by taking an action toward self-protection; take that action if it nourishes the soul and then let it go.  Let that self-protective measure or action help to put an end to the phobia and the uneasiness that suspicion has caused.  Then go do something else; let it go.

By the way, PENTACLES relates to material matters or materiality.  So money/finances and loss/gain is part of the dynamic; so the oracle is giving specific information about what causes some of that and that is fear of the loss of money or someone taking from us what results in income in some way.  Survival stuff.  There can be also a fear of “loss of self” which is the ego fearing its demise.  Not possible but that’s paranoia.

The roses in the image of the Ace of Pentacles reminds us of beauty and also the pain of the thorns.  Our fellow humans – some can be so beautiful and others can stab us with their thorns.  Or maybe we can stab ourselves sometimes too if we let our suspicious natures get out of hand.

Lastly, the angel with the money sign on this card seems to remind us that we must keep ourselves in as positive state as much as possible in order to receive the material gifts available to us.  And, worst case scenario, the oracle reminds us that life is full of new beginnings and help is available.

What will help the most to overcome these emotions is gratitude and the use of common sense; so counteract paranoia by focusing on your blessings and as I started with, by “getting real”—as best as you can anyway.

Know you are safe, protected and that you have total security.  Remember WHO really provides for your needs … i.e. a Higher Power.  Even if you don’t fully believe it, fake it until you make it.  It helps to believe we’re not facing this life without some sort of Divine Support.

One last final note—sometimes feelings of “fear of loss” can motivate us toward greater achievement.

I hope this little post helps someone out in cyber world.
