Guilt, Withdrawal, The Hermit, The Leopard and the 12th House with Moon and Pluto

The HermitIts probably a good day to stay home and write.  The Moon is transiting my 12th house and sitting atop of my natal Pluto with Mars nearby.  Could get intense in the outer world today–best to keep that intensity within the 4-walls here.  Or so says the intuition.  The 12th house is about seclusion and withdrawal — or at least that’s one of the archetypes.  Or that’s one astrologically accepted classic model of the House 12 pattern anyway–withdrawal.

I think that its good for the soul:  withdrawal, going within, terminating connections with the outer world.

Sometimes we withdraw from life or from certain situations for self-protection but what do we really want to protect ourselves from?  The same thing that motivates all of us–we either seek pleasure or avoid pain.

Let’s face it. We don’t have to be martyrs in life.  I don’t think it’s wrong to disengage from persons, places or things that are unpleasant if we have a choice.  Sometimes we don’t but with the blessing of the universe, sometimes we do.  Why not exercise the choice and not feel guilty about it?

That’s how my 12th house Moon conjunct Pluto feels about it today.  I think that choice is a gift, why not use it and do so so without guilt?

I don’t know about you but sometimes my feelings of guilt, when present, seem to come from worries about what other people will think about me–people that I care about or who are important to me.  Sometimes we see ourselves through other people’s eyes and that triggers those old patterns of guilt that we’ve probably carried over a number of lifetimes.

Guilt serves no purpose and is un-necessary self-criticism.  Its like allowing those voices of the old Catholic nuns or critical parents or other authority figures to take over our psyche.

It serves one thing that is purposeful however; it let’s us know that we are still working on resolving something within our own relationship to our self.    We always think these things are about us versus them.  We think it’s about our connection to the ‘other person’ or ‘the job’, etc.  When really its about our own relationship to our own self.

In other words, in my own case, honoring my own tendencies and feelings without concern of being misunderstood or judged as being uncaring or cruel.  So in that way we can see that the concern really is self-judgment.

Give self permission to embrace one’s own natural tendencies which are there for a reason and there as much for other people’s benefit as well as our own.  And honor that.

One thing we learn when we withdraw is how to experience our feelings fully and to release them in full too because we are giving ourselves the space by withdrawing in order to do so.

To carry guilt is to sabotage ourselves.  Withdrawal gives us the space to know ourselves, and to understand our feelings and to release them.

One way to resolve any guilt is to rebuild faith in one’s self and withdrawal creates the space for faith and self-trust to become strengthened.

I always relate the TAROT card of THE HERMIT to 12th house withdrawal energy.  I think of an “old soul” (if you will) and someone more comfortable alone than with others and not because of a lack of social skills or anything of the sort.  Just someone who values alone time higher than surface or shallow time with others.

Leopard walking towardThe Hermit card relates to the 12th house in another way –or so I think.  I liken this energy to someone who has created their own religion or their own rules to live by following the inner guidance or personal conscience.  Here is someone with personal dogma and may be seen as eccentric because this is quite different than the consensus rules of society and is seeking spiritual happiness in ways that the consensus cannot understand or does not follow.

Sometimes I feel a lot like THE HERMIT and its animal counterpart THE LEOPARD. Today that feels more intense than usual — it’s one of those times.

But then again, the Moon is setting off my 12th house now highly activating Pluto so I accept that as normal for today.  Once a month my inner Hermit and Leopard get kicked up to higher levels as the Moon passes through this area of my psyche.

Thus, I stay home and even write about it!  😉 wink!

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra with players Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter – How it plays out

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon) - April 4, 2015
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon) – April 4, 2015

Today – It’s a super charged Full Moon (April 4, 2015) in Libra!  What can this mean? Here’s my version…

But is it only today that we may feel (Moon/emotion) the effects?  No; it’s more or less a theme that’s been occurring at least since the last eclipse (Solar a few weeks ago, March 20).

Something shifted around that time, perhaps ended—a change; a new way of BE-ing may have occurred for you.

And now, that’s associated with a new beginning.

Don’t’ get hung up on the exact dates; instead just think about something that may have occurred in the life 2 or 3 weeks ago (or even  a month or so ago) that set you up for the new phase that this eclipse is heralding—new beginning; new way of seeing things; new way of being in the world; new chapter in the life.  (We can experience the effects of an eclipse months before and months after–or so they say and so I’ve personally observed.)  But what are the key factors we can realize now?

Relationship is the key word with this energy and if you’re like me—happy to be in relationship with Self with a capital S (Higher Self) and with Divine Being you may, like me, be seeing life in a whole new light.  That should be a capital L really in the word Life—meaning All That Is and of course all that isn’t and the space in between.

Of course, we’d also have to mention personal one-on-one relationships with family, friends, life partners too which may be taking on a whole new meaning right about now and over the next few months.

This is no ordinary placement.  The Sun is conjunct Uranus and T-squaring Pluto.  What a mixture!   Moon, Uranus in Aries, the Libra Sun and tossed into that we also have the Capricorn Pluto – better not reference tossing Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, anywhere– it’s he who does the tossing.  LOL

Sun in Aries wants freedom and the ability to do it’s own thing regarding its purpose in life and the planet Uranus is empowering that Sun to go for it! As I see it, the planets and luminaries are setting up that theme when the Sun/Uranus opposes Moon and squares Pluto.

To me that configuration indicates  finding freedom in our life in a new way–one which challenges our feelings of security or actually enhances those feelings to create transformational (Pluto, the transformer) attitudes or views regarding how we relate to others and/or to Life Itself.  Pluto is quite psychological and so we could sense here a new psychology in your life–perhaps a highly personal one that creates a new beginning.

Can you see or feel how this can be playing out in your life now?  And how it has been occurring for some time now?

Jupiter plays a part in this attitudinal, emotional energy merger and change of view too. Jupiter, the great benefic, is highly focused via it’s retrograde motion.  It’s moving through Leo now.   And now its making an aspect to the other players, bringing with it a sense of playfulness and joy and mostly FUN.   That’s the energy that influences and balances this new attitude and way of be-ing that is taking shape and changing our lives right now.

May the blessings of Jupiter be yours and may you find the freedom and harmony in your life that brings the new freedom/ liberation of contented happiness with the influence of this eclipse both now and over the next 6 months!

Meaning of the New Moon in Aquarius January 20, 2015 and the Aquarian in Your Life and The Chariot with Queen of Cups

New Moon times.  Could these be times in which the door to the psyche is open for us to enter and redirect our play just a little bit–at least emotionally?  And is it a time for us to create and debate and elevate as well as fixate about our emotional nature?  New Moon times could be  the most important part of our creative nature since it sets the tone for how we interpret the world.  Each month the dye is cast so-to-speak by our response to life at the New Moon time.  If we could mark the time and be aware of it, we could control the nature of the dye we cast for the upcoming 28’ish to 30-day lunar cycle.

If you happen to know  the house that the New Moon is in (for you), you can derive more insight from the vibes but even if you don’t know that information, it’s still beneficial to open to setting a new tone for your emotional responses to life.    (If you should happen to know what house 0° Aquarius falls in your natal chart, this will give you an idea for the areas of your life that will be activated and in what life categories the potential for renewal will be natural and beneficial to cast your emotional die for the next 30-day cycle.   But even if you do not know which house your 0° Aquarius is located, you can still benefit from simply knowing the sign itself.

So we have a New Moon in Aquarius!  This sign rules the 11th house of hopes, dreams and also carries a humanitarian and “friends” as general meaning archetypes.  Innovative thinking is part of the Aquarius vibe as well as freedom seeking qualities being a part of this energy.  In evolutionary soul astrology, it also links with “the wound” of the past lives.

So in any of those ways we can cast the dye for this next month–changing our emotional responses to life in those areas.

(Again, if you know the house of your natal chart that holds 0° Aquarius, you can factor in that information as well.)

I just had a brilliant idea!  (Now that’s the stuff that Aquarius is made of actually–brilliant ideas.)  Anyway, why not draw a few tarot cards to add insight to the Aquarius New Moon meaning here?  Why not?  It’s my blog and I can do what I want!–that last sentence (too) is very ‘Aquarian’ in nature.  🙂

Let me first reiterate that a New Moon relates to heightened sensitivity to a particular energy for the purpose of casting new dye for the purpose of renewing the potential of that part of your psyche.  Using emotion to rededicate yourself in some way–that’s another way to say it.  We can toss in “desire nature” as well here in that what we desire usually has a rather significant emotional derivative so using that energy to create something new in our lives.

Let me draw two cards now to help us to know more about this month’s New Moon in Aquarius, asking how we can best use this time for our highest benefit and therefore highest benefit of all.  I’m going to use the Hanson-Roberts tarot deck for this one; here we go.  (By the way, I love the images on this deck and the cards are small and fit nicely in my hands during the shuffle.  This is a deck that I used to program meanings from the divinitory method using my own memories.)

I drew THE CHARIOT and QUEEN OF CUPS.

Chariot with Queen of Cups

Well, first impression:  male image/female image so a hint at balance confirmed by the yin and yang on the Chariot.  All those stars on the Chariot card really do remind me of the sign of Aquarius and now the Cup the Queen holds, definitely relates to emotions (cups equal emotion in the tarot system).

The Chariot also speaks of using one’s will, directing one’s energy and being determined; it is also about practice and practice making perfect.  Practicing what?  The Queen holds that answer–understanding your emotional reactions.  Satisfaction comes from practicing using one’s will to understand emotional responses and to keep on that path and exerting control in some way to achieve a goal.

Sometimes we let our emotions spin out of control.  Yet, these cards speak of the suggestion that this New Moon cycle the directive is about making it a goal to control emotions so that they do not spin out, causing us to break down, go off our intended path and by failing to maintain our balance and by neglecting to keep the positive/negative pull of our nature (yin/yang) under control.

I think of the Queen of Cups always as it relates to intuition and also empathy/compassion — those energies, too, need to be balanced so that emotions don’t spin out.

The Queen sits by an ocean and this hints, to me, that water can help in our endeavors this month and if there is a goal that you believe you’d like to reach regarding water in any way, this New Moon in Aquarius would support that.   Many people feel very “at peace” near water or even in water.  Aquarius, after all, is the “water bearer” (despite it being an ‘air’ sign.  The Chariot does relate to the Sign of Cancer and Cancer is ruled by the Moon and Moon energy always relates to water.

The New Moon
The Sun and Moon are joined together to create something new during the New Moon time

So on all levels I do get that a message for this New Moon time relates to emotion and the goal of harnessing those in some way that relates to Aquarius energy — friends, hopes, dreams, humanitarian causes, group energy or perhaps it relates to a person with the Sun sign Aquarius with the understanding that the Sun and Moon are neck-in-neck right along side one another at the same degree when there’s a New Moon.

Give it another go here–what I mean is to consider reading this post over again with what your intuition tells you Aquarius means to you!  Cast the dye consciously.

Final thought:  is there a way that you can balance emotions for a new cause, a new reason in this new lunar phase?

Balsamic Moon Phase – October 2014 Leads to New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 23rd

BALSAMIC MOONphase-2

Balsamic Phase!  [AKA Waning Crescent Phase] Yep. Moon is at 2° Libra (today as I type this) and that feeling of wanting to escape into a mist of a cloud and fade out is here again–it’s a regular monthly feeling for me.  Maybe you too?  The Balsamic Moon says things like  ‘I want change NOW or GET ME OUT OF THIS REALITY’…. that’s the feeling I’m describing that you may be able to identify with regarding this Moon Phase.

THE SOUL AND THE DIVINE ARE ULTIMATELY INSEPARABLE AND INDISTINGUISHABLE — we can know that… have that experience in this phase!

The desire for peace and silence is overwhelming.  I currently reside (I changed the word live to reside just now)  in a parking lot type townhouse setting where every 8 feet on both sides of the narrow drive-through is a parking space.  Any time someone slams their car door, it sounds like a sonic boom going off around my head.  Most days it barely registers but the need for silence contrasts with the booms and bangs.  (No, I don’t have a headache but I feel the sounds in my body.  Has that ever happen to you?  You know the feeling, right?)

I have two roommates who bang around and dialogue early in the morning which I incorporate into weird dreams usually but it seems much more disturbing now.  This is typical of the Balsamic Phase of the Moon—the need for quiet, silence as the psyche on all levels needs to commune with the inner energy and distractions from the outer world loom much larger.  As I mentioned at other times in this blog, my natal Moon is balsamic (directly behind) my Sun and so this is true for me at all times, but at this time it is even more pronounced.

Coping with the outer world takes huge effort and concentration and discipline because all parts of mind/body/spirit want to go far away from the normal routine.  I spoke with one of my daughters last evening who expressed feeling overwhelmed with the demands of earth living–the long drive to work, the financial stresses and strains and the having to work long hours without what she feels is proper reimbursement for her efforts.  That’s another way to describe this phase.   She didn’t know the solution or what to do about it but felt despondent–again, overwhelmed with the demands of life.  That’s the feeling of this phase.  And knowledge is power–and we know phases are just that, phases.

We could toss in the mercury retrograde and the two eclipses this month on top of it (and personally I’m having a Lunar Return today), but then why complicate things further?  I’d like to stick to the blog post topic –the Balsamic Moon Phase.

Here’s the view from the perspective of the psychic/the sensitive.

The Balsamic phase AKA The Waning Crescent:  the Moon is 315 -360° growing into the “dark of the Moon”

This phase begins with a very deep psychic sensitivity and alternate realities make themselves known to the psychic.  Ghosts show up in this phase—like Halloween the veils are thin at this time. Communication from loved ones on the other side, spirit guides and angels are more common for everyone during this lunar phase but more so for the psychic.  Imagination and visions are at their peak.

The archetype here is one of merging with Divine Will, surrender and a willingness to go into the abyss.  More than any other time of the month, the psychic wants to withdraw from life when the Moon is in the Balsamic Phase.

There is a search for ultimate meaning now. And the desire is strong to turn ones back to the physical world.  We are more willing than at any other time to ask questions like, “What is the nature of reality?”, “What is the nature of the mind?” Or “Where do we go when we die?”

We recognize the illusion of time and physical matter.  A psychic who is comfortable in this realm already can lovingly go deeply that they enter into “the universes of spirit world” and experience a liberation and freedom as well as wisdom  that… well, that helps one keep going through the next lunar cycle starting again with the New Moon.

New Moon happens again at 1° Scorpio which is also the time of the Solar Eclipse.  Again, Solar Eclipses are about something new.  Lunar Eclipses relate to some type of permanent ending.  These things don’t happen overnight and some eclipse energy affects people more dramatically than others (which depends on their natal chart points as they relate to the eclipse points) but that’s the core concept with eclipses.

Date:  New Moon Solar Eclipse October 23rd.  It’s a good time to set your intentions for the new month and the season as well.  Do so and then follow the blog posts through the phases if you’d like using the links below.

ADDENDUM:  disclaimer:  Maybe it’s because I’m in the midst of a PERSONAL LUNAR RETURN but I wanted to come back to post a bit more about the ‘feelings’ now as they relate to the earlier phases of the Moon as it grew full–a comparison and contrast.  By the way, a Lunar return is when the Moon returns to the same degree and minute as it was on the day you were born.  So, that happens monthly. I think that’s going to be my next project:  to write about the Lunar Return.  I’ve noticed, through the years, the days when I’ve felt — for lack of a better word right now– I’ve felt FUNKEY, different, strange, weird or felt something was ‘off’ and so looked at my chart to find time and again that the Moon was conjunct my birth Moon on that day.  So I’ve been meaning to investigate Lunar Returns a bit more; my understanding at this point is that they are like a New Moon, but even more personal.  That’s as far as my knowledge goes–and up until now I thought of a lunar return as a double moon of sorts just intensifying emotion.  But I plan to find out more.

Anyway, back to this personal addendum on the balsamic moon phase.  I look back to the New Moon and the Waning Crescent as I had this dilemma and desire and planted some seeds— well, okay.  At the New Moon time I was  telepathically screaming into the heavens asking what is going on, what direction should I take and what is this all about and then stating my needs and desires best I could.  Stuff started to happen–very encouraging and validating stuff.  I felt, well… validated, confirmed, 10-4 good buddy message received and all that.  I knew what was going to happen and still do–eventually.  It hasn’t happened yet but I have been given full assurances–in the physical–that it will and soon.  Apparently, not THIS lunar phase unless something changes in the next few days–in which case I will be back to post it!

But it is strange — and this is the point that I wanted to make about this lunar phase — somehow the fire has gone out.  Don’t misunderstand.  It’s not that I still don’t want to have happen what I was assured will happen–it will happen eventually and it could be at any moment is what I was told.  And the circumstances around this are very true to point–it is a concrete physical thing I’m talking about here.  And the ‘any time now’ does make perfect sense in the 3rd dimensional physical reality–so that part’s ‘all-good’ as they say.  Yet somehow the fire has gone out a bit or at least we could say there is no more open flame and the logs of the fire are just red embers, still producing warmth [as an analogy] but, again, no open flame.  The excitement is over and the reality of life remaining ‘as is’ filters back in and there’s a sadness and at the same time there’s a feeling of how it doesn’t matter much one way or another.  Intellectually it does because my mind is yelling at me — it matters! it matters! it matters a lot!  but the heart of me is detached from the cares of the world, the earth and my own earthly life.  There are more important considerations even if I can’t exactly nail those down either.  There’s a desire to go sit on a nice huge boulder  somewhere that’s warmed by the sun and let the wind blow my hair and move across my face and be completely STILL.  Either that or transport into a fluffy white cloud in the sky and look down and laugh at the cares of the word and laugh even more loudly at my own life.  I am not depressed, i am detached–detached, except from chocolate.  Chocolate helps, it really does!.

Last Quarter Moon Phase October 2014

Last Quarter Moon Phase-2

The current energy:  The head/Sun squares the heart/Moon… well, that’s one (of many) ways to say it.  Today the Moon is in it’s Last Quarter Phase (270° to 315°).  This phase started at 1° Leo and enters  the last phase, the Balsamic at 1° Libra and then the next New Moon is 1° Scorpio.  These phases happen every month of course as the Moon moves through it’s monthly cycle.  So where are we now exactly as far as what we can expect will occur based on our New Moon intention from the last New Moon when we planted our seed and conceived something during the dark of the Moon last?

What is this phase all  about?  Well, we start with the fact of the square that the Moon and Sun are making and that brings frustration, uneasiness, the energy being at odds, conflicting.  The Moon wants one thing and the Sun another and both must be resolved–but differently.

Dane Rudhyar calls this phase “Crisis is Consciousness” — and I think too “crisis in belief”.  Internal conflicts, therefore, mark this phase.  Do we deserve what we asked for during the New Moon?  Is it possible to achieve? Are we in harmony with our own ideals?  –these types of questions could be possible now.  I can see this within my own self as I look back to the start of the cycle (Sept. 23/24) at the last New Moon and all that has happened over these last 3 week and I feel myself having to grapple with a few things internally.  Here in this phase we should be careful that we don’t create a pattern called “the undoing of the doing”.  We must not take things for granted and undermine our own creative efforts and all the while try to understand our own actions.

We are likely to seek a deeper cosmological understanding–again, crisis in belief.  We begin to feel the pull of Source Energy now pulling us into the next phase.  We may be confused about what to believe and the value system that we associate with those beliefs.

What you believe determines your values which in turn determines your lifestyle relative to your beliefs.  There can be a crisis in lifestyle and a crisis in identity as well.  An inner question such as “Am I living my life according to my own values?”    Something in consciousness is being re-polarized so that a new foundation of awareness can occur–the soul strives for a new foundation!

There is society and then there is ‘me’–values may differ.  We feel the new cycle and want to move into that but we are finishing up something in this cycle that must come first—thus, the frustration.

the Psychic in this last quarter moon phase

The psychic, the sensitive individual,  feels the longing to go home, to withdraw, and seeks solitude more frequently in this lunar phase. Thoughts of what is left behind as a legacy are typical of this phase,  And so perhaps in this lunar phase the psychic professional works on that class, that book, those teachings or the project of one kind or another.  There is still engagement with the outer world but it is like the autumn if we equated this to a season.

The Moon wanes and the monthly cycle ends and now the psychic starts to review the month, the work and perhaps takes inventory of successes and perceived failures and maybe considers how to improve or change in some way.

There is a sense of wanting to finish unfinished business and so reviewing connections with others perhaps by checking over Email to be sure everything was addressed… just anything to tidy things up because subconsciously and intuitively the feeling of needing to withdraw again is nearing.

So there is a feeling of culmination and completion here and shedding the skins that were worn in the world this time/this month.  The time is coming again soon to enter the cave once again where perhaps only a loincloth and meditation beads are needed—perhaps not literally but at least metaphorically.

No matter what your role in life or what profession you are in the emotional nature responds to an important principle or value that you feel you must uphold.  However, it is important to be flexible about this because as you feel like you would like to reform the whole system of society and the world to be in harmony with your own ideals, there is a need to be reasonable.  We can only do our best in our own corner of it working within the system (and societal values) that are already in place while being in harmony with our own system and values at the same time.

And we should remember that we are talking about the Solar-Lunar factors… the Sun relating to the Moon.  We’re talking head (Sun) versus heart (Moon). The purpose and outer persona (Sun) and the evolving emotional and soul dynamic (Moon) and we started this phase with the 270° square.  I wrote a post a while back about the difference between the energies of the Sun and the Moon which may be good to review:  CLICK HERE.

This phase is like a sweet sorrow.  Like sensing a return to the homeland after being away.  Time now feels even more precious because we know something is soon going to change but before it does we ask ourselves, “Have I been doing my best?”    These types of questions permeate our gradual return to the inner world as we move through this phase.  Longing increases to return to the dharmakaya, the place of divine truth.  We remember the “Cosmic Joke” as some say and we focus on today, now, and …. well, I just now realize that this very morning, I made a Facebook post that epitomizes this:

“In our lives there’s ‘this n’ that’ happening and then there’s the other ‘not’ happening and then again there’s the ‘meanwhile’… deep within; the eternal presence in the eternal now is meanwhile. Always meanwhile at the core of us, there’s exists, always, the divine connection meanwhile and the practice of the virtue of patience.”

There’s a sense of autumn about this phase and an acceptance of the imperfection of our lives, our values, our beliefs and those of the others and the outer world of society.  We can almost laugh about it realizing how little it all really matters in the end.   Yet, we still know we have to participate in it and so our grip loosens.  We accept what we haven’t done and may not get to do and we also see that tendency in other people–that which has not been accomplished not only in this monthly lunar phase but in life generally.  Yet, despite this, we’re okay with the imperfections of Samsara.

We know we cannot always be right, have everything we want, remain young all the years of our life but…

we must be very careful now not to become cynical.  We should let go of all judgments of ourselves and others–that’s all irrelevant anyway and we can get a glimpse of that now.

Don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

We do not want to repeat the past — this for sure is what we know and we must be careful not to “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory”.

It is important not to judge circumstances now, no matter how things appear!  It’s best to say “I have no idea…” right now rather than to draw an erroneous conclusion about anything or anyone.  Enlightenment, after all, in the end is knowing that you don’t know all that you thought you knew!

Next up:  Balsamic Phase at 1° Libra starting on Tuesday the 21st.  And then we go thought the cycle again, so you can come back and start again with the New Moon phase entry on this blog and let the Moon phases guide you through another month.

Waning Disseminating Moon Phase – October 2014

waning disseminating moon2

The Sun-Moon angle of separation now is past full (the 180° of the total 360° zodiac circle is Full Moon).  We have now entered and are well into the Waning Disseminating Phase which is 225 – 270°.  The Moon now wanes, grows smaller.  If we put this phase in perspective by comparing it to the circle of the zodiac with Aries as first house, we’d be around the 8th house or or 9th house right about now–the area of “The Shaman”.

The Shaman who has a social identity too.  So at this time we need, like the social shaman, times for periodic withdrawal like a shaman would need while at the same time giving something, “disseminating” something as the name implies and as a shaman does.  We now have some wisdom which we gained from the Full Moon which we can share with others.

Just as a side note, it’d be nice to be able to see the Moon wane in our local sky here after the huge attention-getter that it was last week; but alas, where I currently reside,  the Moon has been camouflaged by dark clouds and rain for days now.

The homeward journey of the Moon has started, at least symbolically.   In comparison to a human life cycle, we are now past mid-life.  The Moon is closer to death than to birth.

And in our psyche during this Moon phase, there is a certain detachment from worldly concerns.  As I typed that last sentence, I laughed thinking how I took off for the gym to workout yesterday despite the area’s heavy concerns about a tornado warning and I joked with my daughter saying, “… so in case a tornado hits me, you will find my body somewhere between home and the YMCA.”  In this phase, we have the understanding that everything must die and our orientation to life changes with that mood.

We are focused both inwardly and outwardly and in that split focus we can see that we should live our life every single day as if it were the last day we have on earth.

We are challenged in this lunar phase, in some way or another, to get over our own self-importance and to diminish our self-involvement or egocentric views.  Something about this current waning disseminating energy encourages less selfishness and to make other people’s concerns more important than our own.  We also realize “how rare and precious we all are” –to borrow a phrase from the movie, CONTACT.  And with this perspective, we stop sweating the small stuff–as the saying goes.

Right now the Moon looks like its missing an edge of it’s face.

In this phase, says Rudhyar, people like to teach others what wisdom they accumulate in their internal search for understanding.

This is the time of the month that a psychic who is also a medium will likely receive the most requests to bring a message from a loved one on the other side. We will most feel like connecting to ancestral energy or the ‘old’ teachings at this time. In this phase people are tempted to want to give or ‘give back’ for the blessings that they have received and in this lunar phase, the psychic may feel like giving a free reading or do something in order to give back for their blessings.  Also, they may receive love offerings/donations in this phase.

In this phase the psychic wishes to remain engaged with others but will soon enter a withdrawal phase again as the Moon continues to wane.  There is a feeling in this phase of longing to commune with kindred souls as well as having the recurring realization that life is short and precious as previously mentioned.

PERSONAL NOTE:  As the Moon has been in the disseminating phase it was with great pleasure that I created a website for my daughter, who had been asking me to help her with that.  I noticed that I had a strong impulse to share with her what I’d learned in my online computer work and to be helpful to her.  There was an acute awareness that I had valuable information and abilities that could be of great service to her.  I’ve also felt a stronger connection to my family than is usual for me and the inevitability of the passage of time and how much I love them.

FULL MOON PHASE Lunar Eclipse October 8, 2014 BLOOD MOON

Blood Moon Full Moon Lunar Eclipse2

Well here’s a Full Moon in Aries theory for you. People who go bonkers during a Full Moon in a relationship sign (Aries Moon/Libra Sun such as it is now) are suspect for this reason:   people will pick a fight with another or provoke reactions in other people for the purpose of dealing with their own conflicts about relationships. Yeah—totally happens.

Full Moons by their very nature are about oppositions (Moon opposing the Sun) and so there will be people born under a Full Moon to whom relationships mean “everything” and others will repudiate all relationships altogether.  Polarity extremes are part of a Full Moon and in relationship signs like the current Aries/Libra Moon/Sun, it’s the same way.  Therefore,  I tend to believe that this is the case with all transiting full Moons too but  especially in the relationship signs of Libra/Aries where even the Lunar Nodes are also currently  transiting.

So at the peak of the Full Moon yesterday with the Moon still in Aries, how did that go for you? Any Mars/Venus interactions? Any Yang/Yin oppositions? Anything surprising? –Uranus, the planet of surprise, was in alignment with the Moon and Sun. Well, whatever it may have been, short lived and sudden as it may have been, the effects will be long lasting whatever it was.

The Moon has now (at the time that I post this) slipped into Taurus—a more peaceful and pleasant emotional territory but the Blood Moon Eclipse had its effect and now we deal with the energy it left behind.

The Moon, which is being eclipsed, is the natural ruler of family, domestic situations, and women. That Full Moon has just occurred in the fiery, and often inflammatory, sign of Aries. One astrologer said issues with women during this Full Moon would not be unexpected, and it’s possible that one may check out on you either emotionally or physically–(adios).

Issues with caregiving can be part of a relationship dynamic at this time. And then there’s always that type of familial “damned if you do, and damned if you don’t” kind of drama. Am I ringing any bells?

GOOD NEWS:  If you can stay out of the dramas (and other people’s aggressions) at this time when the Moon is at it’s fullest, the energy can be purely exhilarating and energizing.

As far as that New Moon intention that we set in motion a few weeks ago, things have peaked, hit the high note and from here on out (the rest of this cycle) the Moon wanes and the energy calms, declines.

But have no fear; a lot can still happen—we are only at the very beginning of the waning cycle. Look out your window now, the Moon is still plenty full.

Generally speaking, as compared to a few weeks ago, things are clearer now than they were then—cards are put out on the table so-to-speak.

Life’s paradoxes become more vivid now—we can see other people’s view points if we are the least bit perceptive and unselfish.

There’s a sense of fate of inevitability that becomes evident here at the Full Moon time and in various ways not just in the way that it relates to the New Moon seed that you planted (either consciously or without knowing what you were doing).

What’s Normal Now:  You could have fear about how you think things are going to evolve in the next few weeks as the Moon wanes, but don’t have a fatalistic attitude!  You see more clearly and realize that things can change at any moment, and you know they have to.  Why? You realize that some things cannot be amended or repaired and some situations are truly stuck and you resolve not to prolong those.

I think it was Steven Forest who said something like if we have to have karma/drama then drama that moves us forward is evolution and is better than rather than drama that goes nowhere but back to square one. I could see that in a situation recently in my own life—yet I don’t think it had much to do with the seed that I planted through my desire or intention during the New Moon a few weeks ago, but maybe so.  Time will tell. Those realizations often times come much later.

Dane Rudhyar says that if a positive attitude of growth and liberation have prevailed during the waxing phase (as the Moon grows toward full), there comes some feeling of fulfillment, illumination and revelation at the FULL MOON. On a personal level, I really am experiencing that now in more than one situation at this time!

That message that we received at the time of the Sun/Moon merging conjunction has now reached the conscious mind fully and arrived in clear, objective consciousness. Something of the past is repudiated – some old value/belief/worry/fear (something) is released in favor of a new realization!  THAT’S Full Moon energy all over!

And so now there is a reorienting with a different purpose than a few weeks ago.

EXCEPTION: if an individual has been negative or carried a hesitant attitude over prior weeks, the Full Moon time can bring about a destructive attitude or a mental dilemma. There can be feelings of being torn; a splitting of the personality but this of course is delusion as all feelings of separateness are. In relationships where feelings of separateness occur the vital essence of the relationship is destroyed. Why? Because that is the denial of relatedness!  Negative energy sees conflicting energy where there is none—such as seeing the Sun conflicting with the Moon in opposition when they are actually relating/merging/compromising. How can you relate to something when you feel that the something is separate from you?  How can you relate to something or someone to which you feel you are being denied the connection? That’s how feeling torn comes about—a bit like personality schizophrenia.

By the by, I admit to getting of the concepts offered in the above  paragraph from the work of  astrologer Dane Rudhyar.  I have include it (heavy as it is) because of personally experiencing the truth to it.  I did paraphrase the concepts the way.

PERSONAL INPUT:  We will see what happens as the Moon wanes over the next few weeks but that ‘bit-of-a-ray-of-hope’ that happened in the New Moon phase 2 weeks ago, that whisper of a hope became concrete and survived and energy of the other phases is peaking now—this is definitely happening in my own personal experience as it relates to my New Moon intention/desire/seed planting. Yet, I still do not wish to reveal what it is that I’ve been focusing upon; not quite yet.

Meanwhile, I’m learning a lot about the Moon cycle writing these blog posts on the Lunation Cycle and applying the information to my own life.

By the way, a bit of trivia here but I just wrote about Joan of Arc in this week’s newsletter and that ties into this blog post since Joan of Arc was born during Full Moon— or so they say.  Her life story epitomizes Full Moon energy.

Anyway, let us ‘hang-in-there’ through the rest of this Lunar Full Phase.

I could have written a book on the fact that this Full Moon is called a BLOOD MOON but, it’s been a long day!  Another time.
The Moon enters the next lunar cycle gate at 225° at what is called the Waning Disseminating lunar phase. See you again around that time at 15° Gemini early next week if my calculations are correct!

That should be around Oct. 12th/13th when the Moon enters that next Waning Disseminating phase.

See you then.

Waxing Gibbous Moon Phase – October 2014

waxing gibbous moon2

Well, here we are, in the Gibbous Moon Phase and the day Moon here is big and glorious!  One can see the sunset in the west and the moon in the east at days end!  Magical stuff really if you let yourself go there!   I mean linger in the view of the Moon and Sun, contemplate it, and really enjoy@!

Well, my Lunar enthusiasm gets me going–pardon.  Akhhemm, [clearing throat and getting serious now] so Gibbous Phase and in 3 days the Moon will be gloriously full.
The Waxing Gibbous Moon; the Separation from the Sun is now 135 – 180°

This is the last part of the waxing phase in the Lunar Cycle… after the Full (180°), the Moon begins to “wane” and the cycles are tagged with that word.   In the last phase [waxing First Quarter] the words ‘forewarned is forearmed’ and that was about the old shells of old energy that litters the field of consciousness and about repudiating the past [patterns of consciousness].  Commitment has been growing and takes hold fully in this phase.

In this Gibbous phase there may be feelings of partnership or teamwork which predominate and are very strong.  One may be very aware of more than one spirit guide present during psychic work; they’ve been there all along but now the Sun shines upon them within our consciousness.   The psychic may feel a full-on commitment to their work.   There may be a stronger than usual impulse to engage with the world in some type of service and commitment therein becomes solidified. There is that feeling that comes with this type of inner dialogue now:   ‘Okay, now I know for sure I’m on the right path and I know what I’m doing and where I’m going or at least I know what I need to do now.’

We should all be feeling that to some extent as the Moon grows fuller over the next few days.  This phase happens once a month–so you haven’t miss it if you and NOT reading his in the October 2014 timing.  Save these posts and revisit the Moon phases again next month.  The greatest thing about the Lunar cycle is that it’s monthly!  Anyway…

There is a strong awareness now of needing others to do psychic work—both those in spirit world and in the human realms.  A little self-analysis at this time goes a long way.   The psychic work here may be adjusted and tweaked or the psychic may consider doing the work just a little bit differently than in the past.

Now we have ‘gone over the waterfall’ so-to-speak and we are independently and fully committed to what we intended during the New Moon several weeks ago [ on September 24th to be exact ].  Whether we were conscious of it or not, the New Moon energy set something into motion [positive or negative] and now we have it clearly before us in one way or another.

Co-operation is a key word for this lunar phase as well as co-creation.  The desire underlying motivation toward this co-operation with others and they with us is fellowship–networking, team players and meaningful connections are expected now.

RED FLAG WISDOM:  A red flag in this phase is that because we are so willing to compromise and create with others, those who like to take advantage for their own purposes can do so too easily — so discernment is also highly associated with this phase of the Moon.  Not being to gullible or trusting or naive–because we have a natural feeling now to co-operate with others, if we don’t use discernment, we can become victims.  Everyone wants to be loved and appreciated but there are those who will use that to their own advantage, so that’s one thing to know and be aware of at this time.  Word to the wise as they say.

In this Waxing Gibbous Phase, the Sun and Moon are 4 or 5 signs apart. This months’ Gibbous Phase cycle began at 15° Aquarius.  The same element–thus the cooperation.  Aquarius is an Air sign and so is Libra where the Moon was when this cycle began–two air signs co-operate well.

So the Sun and Moon are at ease and in accord and the energy now can be easily harnessed.

Astrologer Dane Rudhyar says that people who are born with their Moon in this phase are eager to contribute meaningfully to society and they may devote their life to a cause.  People born in this Virgo-type cycle (ruled by Mercury) have keen minds and a way of connecting the dots with ideas.

Verbal abilities will be strong now with the Sun/Moon relationship being in air signs.

The Gibbous phase allows for adjustments and preparation.  Personally, I’ve felt that part most of all–the need for preparation.  I’ve been getting paperwork together, making photocopies and doing that Virgo-type thing that is associated with that intention that I had back at the New Moon and that I’ve received hints will be manifesting.  I got a call during the New Moon and was told what paperwork is needed and while the Moon was in this phase I’ve had a strong pull to get that done.  Like I said, preparation and adjustments are a strong part of this Mercury ruled phase.

We can be doing self-analysis in this phase too–that’s part of the internal adjustment mentioned above and thus, humility is associated with this phase as well.  And personally I must add the word “awe” to this phase from my own perspective.  Gemini-like internalization leading to action.

There is an inner feeling of wanting to be prepared so that there is no rejection on any level in the next phase  Feelings of inferiority need to be conquered in this phase and one will be helped in many ways to feel worthy in preparation for the upcoming Full Moon energy–that is if during the Waxing First Quarter phase one didn’t let doubt crumble the structure or get tripped up in the wasteland of old patterns.

In this phase the self talk must be similar to these types of words and phrases:  “I deserve this.  It is not too much to ask.  I don’t listen to other people’s criticisms and have confidence and I do not defer to others.  I am worthy–equal, deserving.  I have good karma.  I am prepared.  Everything will go well.  I remain humble yet deserving.”

I have not revealed on the blog what seeds I planted during the New Moon–not yet or many not ever.  I am keeping that under my hat for now–at least for now.

See you at or after the Full Moon:  15° Aries!  October 8th, 2014, Wednesday.
