Emotionally Rich Energy for the Holidays, Especially on New Years Eve December 31, 2009

For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.

~T.S. Eliot

We’re moving closer now to the Winter Solstice (the 21st of December), also known as mid-winter when the Sun moves into Capricorn and when the length of day and night are held in balance…  between the Earth’s inhale and exhale, a moment of stillness.
There is  a privacy about it [winter] which no other season gives you…. In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.
~Ruth Stout
As I sit at my computer, looking out the window, the snow falls painting its white wonder–like you see on holiday cards–on the branches of the evergreens directly in my view. I hear the sound of the salt trucks making their runs back and forth on the highway in front of my house carrying their loads of ice melting crystals to gift the winding mountain roads surrounding me… thinking it’s a good day to reach out and share some thoughts.
December 1st marked a shift in energy as Uranus turned direct and the relationship planet, Venus, moved out of the depth of Scorpio and into jovial Sagittarius.  As a matter of fact we have 3 personal planets in Sag right now–Sun, Venus and Mercury.  What does that mean?  Generally, optimistic moods should abound.
On an even higher optimistic note, between now and the 20th of December there are no planets retrograde in the heavens! So energy should be moving quickly over these next few weeks followed by a slow down the day after Christmas when Mercury turns retrograde to encouraging rest, retreat and inward reflection.
The slower moving outer planets will promote an underlying baseline of inner and outer events as follows.  Saturn moved into Libra at the end of October.  And it  squared Pluto (the planet of transformation).  And it (Saturn) opposes the planet of freedom (Uranus).  Therefore, the consciousness-focus for many has been upon issues of fairness, commitment, freedom and transformation–especially in areas of relationships.  Pluto is in the sign of Capricorn and as it applies to the Libra qualities of Saturn;  my favorite astrologer’s summed it up well in their recent newsletter when they wrote:
As a group, we are being asked to see how those shadow expressions of Capricorn can challenge the reality (Saturn) of how we build (Saturn) and negotiate (Libra) healthy relationships, fairness, equality, moderation and aesthetics (all Libra), and what the actual value of those things is in our lives.”

The FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE on NEW YEARS EVE, DECEMBER 31st, 2009 at 10 degrees 15 min. CANCER

There’s quite a bit of energy culminating in the heavens (as above, so below) on New Year’s Eve, predicting an interesting energy dynamic for December 31st. The Cancer Moon at that time will be opposing many closely gathered points in the sky (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Pluto and North Node) while it simultaneously squares Saturn in a FULL MOON ECLIPSE, reinforcing emotional intensity and sensitivity!  Visualize 4 planets and the North Node all huddled together within about 10 degrees of each other looking across the sky at the opposing Moon!

New Year’s Day is every man’s birthday.
~Charles Lamb
The Cancer Moon relates to issues of security/insecurity.  I’ve written a blog about the Cancer Moon.  Perhaps you’d like to take a look at it, since this New Year’s Cancer Full Moon Lunar Eclipse may affect us all in a pronounced way.  The blog post( https://psychicjoystar.wordpress.com/2009/03/31/cancer-moon-use-it-to-know-thyself/ ) will give you more of a feel for into the dynamic of Cancer/Capricorn energy that will be playing out around that time.
The famous words by the Scott Robert Burns, “Auld Lang Syne” ,
begin with a question of whether old times [and old relationships]
should be forgotten; however, it is generally interpreted as
a call to rremember long-standing friendships and loves!
A FULL MOON ECLIPSE reflects the light of the Sun and so the emotional energy will be intensified around New Year’s Eve and then suddenly, eclipse!  The light goes out and then just as abruptly as the eclipse passes, the double emotional intensity returns full-out again as the light comes back on again.
So, at the time of the New Year Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, severe emotional ups and downs could occur in your self and in others.  It’s probably best not to over-react emotionally in either direction but to just observe the energy and hold a space in which you do not attempt to push energy away, nor grasp at it.  One of the reasons I love astrology is that it gives us some idea of what the energy may be like up ahead (like a traffic or weather report) so that we’re prepared to be patient with the process that is likely to unfold.
Relationship issues will definitely be triggers on New Year’s since this Full Moon in Cancer and all the merging points it opposes (Sun, Venus, Pluto, Mercury and North Node) will all be squaring Saturn in the sign of Libra (relationships/LOVE).  INTENSE STUFF!
Every man regards his own life as the New Year’s Eve of time.  ~Jean Paul Richter

A lot of energy/feelings/emotions which have been suppressed or repressed may surface; sentimentality will be heightened to the nth degree.  My suggestion is not to fight emotion and see what it reveals for you and what direction indicator it may give you for the year ahead.
 Movie Trivia
On a side note, I watched an enchanting movie recently.  Many of you may have already seen it; however, I thought to mention it here anyway in case you’re one who hasn’t. I enjoyed it very much.  If you have an interest in both clairvoyance and romance [okay, yeah, it’s a chick flick] you will also enjoy “The Butcher’s Wife”.  In that screen adventure, Demi Moore plays a psychic in search of her “split-apart” as they call it in North Carolina–in other words, her soul mate. So, there you have it–a movie recommendation.  Now that I think of it, I must be attracted to Demi Moore movies lately since I recently enjoyed another flick of hers called “Passion of the Mind”.   And as I’m on this topic anyway, may as well mention “Life or Something Like it” , but that one stars Anelina Jolie.  These are  movies with a romantic and metaphysical flare and since they are older flicks they should not be hard to locate to rent if you’re interested.
On a final note, the significant Saturn-Uranus opposition (the first direct hit was in effect on the day Obama was elected president) has been likened to a “play with 5 acts” which affect us in an ongoing way from November 2008 through July 2010.  The exact degree dates, representing peaks of intensity are as follows:
  •   ~ Began November 4th 2008
  •   Feb 4, 2009
  •  September 14, 2009
  •  April 26th 2010
  • Ending July 25, 2010  ~
The 5 Acts to the Saturn-Uranus play can be summed up in a few words… the old versus the new; security of the old versus freedom to move into the new; conservatism versus liberalism.  This energy plays out, opposes and reaches for balance on the global and economic scene as well as in the dynamics of our personal lives.
