Time Spent in Nature Enables You to Connect to Your Intuitive, Spiritual Side
Spending time in nature will help you to begin to connect to your Spiritual, Intuitive side. Being out in nature is an excellent way to experience the ‘Oneness’ of life and it is in that state that your Higher Mind and Spirit Guides commune with you.
Throughout the history of the world, nature has been honored because of its ability to elevate people’s consciousness. Many great poets have written about this; for example, Wordsworth, Keats, Blake and Thoreau.
Briefly, here are some of my favorite lines from Wordsworth’s work. These words are from his work called Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey:
. . . And I have felt
A presence that disturbs me with the joy
Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused,
Whose dwelling is the light of the setting suns,
And the round ocean and the living air,
And the blue sky, and in the mind of man:
A motion and a spirit, that impels
All thinking things, all objects of all thought,
And rolls through all things. Therefore I am still
A lover of the meadows and the woods,
And mountains; and of all that we behold
From this green earth; of all the mighty world
Of eye, and ear, –both what they half create,
And what perceive; well pleased to recognize
In nature and the language of the sense,
The anchor of my purest thoughts, the nurse.
The guide, the guardian of my heart and soul
Of all my mortal being.
To me, these lines speak of meeting The Divine out in nature. When we are in nature, we have spontaneous spiritual experiences. Many of the revelations which have occurred for me have been received while out in nature. If you will give this some thought, you may find that this is true for your own life too. Sometimes our greatest insights and understandings are received while in a natural place of beauty. Nature is our best temple.
In a book I read once, there was a personal account of a woman who had a very special experience induced by nature. She was in a very depressed state one day when she was driving in her car. Impulsively, she pulled off the road to a picnic site. When she got out of her car a blue jay flew down right in front of her. It was calling to her in a very insistent way and she followed this bird that seemed to be hopping away as if it wanted to be pursued. The bird led the way into a clearing with a beautiful view of a snow-covered mountain. The sight of the mountain somehow created a shift in the woman’s heart and she felt comforted. Even though she broke out into tears, she released her depression and it was flushed from her system. Once again she heard the bird call to her and as she followed the bird’s hops and short flights from one bush to the next, she was led back to her car. She drove away feeling cleansed and peaceful and was a much different woman than when she arrived.
Have you ever heard the phrase, “A little bird told me?” Birds are Earth’s Angels and are common broadcasters of telepathic and intuitive messages. Others say that birds are an expression of our Soul’s Spirit.
INTUITION is received through our connection with the ONENESS of all of life. When we are in ATTUNEMENT with life, we become open to the Presence that Wordsworth talked about. Being in nature is a natural way of expanding and attuning to the Higher Mind.
If you have a question that needs to be answered or you would like guidance in your life, meditate! You can simply go out side and be in nature if meditation is foreign to you – being in an outdoor, natural environment is a ‘natural’ way to meditate – without effort, without strain. Once you pay attention and notice how being in nature creates the shift into an expanded states of consciousness, you can learn to do this attunement intentionally.
This is just a small tip for connecting to your intuition. And it’s a good one to apply if you really want to get serious about this Psychic/Intuitive stuff!
